Happy Retirement ...

Hi Everybody,

Todays card is one that has been colored with Spectrum Noir pens and pencils.

This lovely rabbit is from the CD The Next Big Thing by Just Inklined

It is one that I have colored many times and I love this image.

But this card is for all those that have recently retired from going out to work and this is the first day  of a new working week that you don't have to get up and rush to get to work on time.

It  is especially for you  ROS   as I know you have been counting down the weeks to yours.   Even down to the last number of shifts that you had to work before walking off into the sunset.

I hope you all have a happy retirement and I speak from experience when I say it is the best time of your life.   It beats going out to work any day.  Time is now yours to spend it as you please.

If you end up doing some other thing that you love ...  as I did  ... then you will wonder how you ever found the time to go to work in the first place.   Enjoy the freedom and have fun

More tomorrow ...

Hugs xx

  3. Hi christina,
30th November I celebrate 12 years since reorganisation at my place of work allowed me to take early retirement at the grand old age of 51. At the time it seems like a dream and still does. I like Ros had counted down the days, not that I hated my job or the people I worked with but to finally be free from the authority imposed by parents teachers and employers and to be my own boss was intoxicating.
Like you I found pleasure in crafting and the rest as they say is history.
    Enjoy your retirement Ros
Love to all my fellow crafters.

  4. Good morning Christina, I have to say this, "is there any area of craft you are not very highly accomplished? Only you travel from one area into another seamlessly.

  9. Thank you for the kind thoughts. Retirement from cardiac nursing (which I loved) became too stressful due to worrying about my patients' long term outlooks. It was time to go. Love the perky bunny, Christina and one day I will dabble with my full set of S N pens I bought in Sydney at that craft fair. Today I finished a lovely screen fold card for my eldest grand daughter's 15th birthday and I am almost finished a lovely book style card for my Nephew's baby son. Life is good and card making....and a wonderful Husband and family complete the picture. Blessed am I. Plus wonderful creative people in my life ;)

  14. This card is so cute. I love it. My husband retired in June and I am loving having him home with me instead of on the road travelling so much. It has given us the opportunity to spend more time with our family.

  19. I just love this card..he's such a cutie, plus I like how you tilted the top layer. I've been retired for 10 years now and could never understand people who say they wouldn't know what to do with themselves if they retired. I had no trouble even on my first day of retirement..it was glorious! The state of Florida allows you to retire after 30 years, so I was 54 when I retired. I've enjoyed not having to go to work every day since. :)

  21. Christina,
What a wonderful card...the bunny is great. Lucky are those that not longer have to toil with alarm clocks and rush hour traffic. You have done a great job at coloring...as usual.

  22. We are seeing yet another string to your bow Christina and what a lovely card it produced, so different to your regular postings. I must try to remember how pretty and interesting offset layers can be. Your 'dotty' background is about all I could manage to reproduce!
"Keep well wishes" to you both. Mary Mac
