Another for the men ...

Hi Everybody,

Seems I am not alone when it comes to making cards for men and many of you struggle with them too.

So here's another that is especially for them made with the Masculine Additions to my new collection that is available with Craft Stash

This one features the dies and I have added them to the Cube Trellis background

You have the choice when you are making this card of dark glasses or regular spectacles which is what I have done for my card

I thought it was pretty cool once it was finished and as Griff has a moustache and glasses he liked it as well.

Below is a list to all the supplies I have used over ALL the masculine cards I have done the videos

More White Embossing

Hi Everybody,

Here is another of those white embossed cards that I made a few weeks ago and I really like the effect.

It stands out and it is very tactile. And of course for me the flowers make all the difference.

They are a mixture of Roses, Tulips, Rose Buds and die cut leaves. All sparkled up with glitter.

The word YOU has the addition of Glossy Accents to it and shows up well on the photograph.

This is a technique I will be using again and it is very easy to do. I may even do a video on it to show you how I did it.

It will take me a little while because at present my time is taken up and all be revealed soon as the launch date has been brought forward to Thursday

So to keep your interest here is another sneaky peak of what is to come... and I can't wait to share my good news with you all

Tuesday tutorial - Boo to You !!

Hi Everybody,

Ghosties and ghouls are on their way and so I thought I would make a card to go with the season.
This was super quick to make ... just a little inking and die cutting and there you have it.
Spellbinders Supplies:
  • S2-262 Boo Web Holiday Die
  • S4-836 Spider Web Card Front
  • Platinum Die Cutting machine
Other Supplies:
  • Orange Ink
  • Grey Ink
  • Black Ink
  • Versamark
  • WOW sparkle embossing powder
  • Glossy Accents
Instructions:
With the outer die of the Card Front cut the base by folding an A4 card in half and placing the die with one of the short cutting edges off the fold
Cut another layer slightly smaller than the card
With both dies together cut the Spiders Web
Ink over with Black and Grey inks
Dab the Versamark on in random areas and sprinkle with the sparkle embossing powder.
Heat until melted
With the extra layer sponge on orange and black inks in random areas and then spritz with clean water and blot off to leave a mottled effect
Cut the web and BOO! twice in black card and stack together
Add the inked layer to the base card and glue the web on top
Add the smaller web into one corner and the word Boo! to the centre of the web
Add Glossy Accents to the word and some areas of the web
I used a label maker to produce my Greeting

Fun Stencil ...

Hi Everybody,

I have been having a splurge with stencils just lately and there are so many designs that I like.

This one was so unusual and I couldn't resist. I tried it in two different colour ways and I really like both of them.

The options are endless with this one. For this card I used Worn Lipstick, Picked Raspberry and Shaded Lilac and I edged the layer with gold Gansai Tambi

On both cards the dies are from Sevenhills Crafts and there are accompanying sentiment stamp with them both

The colours on this one are Fossilised Amber, Twisted Citron and Tumbled Glass

I have added Glossy Accents to both sentiments words

This stencil makes for a look that is modern and would suit any age group male or female ... so altogether a useful addition to my crafting stash

Tuesday Tutorial - Flowers & Lace

Hi Everybody,

For todays card I am using some old and new dies together and creating a really pretty design with only card elements on it. I like to add lace and flowers to my creations and with these dies I can add both and it doesnt cost the earth.
And with dies I can re create the whole look time after time just altering the colours in the card or the inks I use.
Spellbinders Supplies:
Other Supplies:
Instructions:

With die #7 from the matting basics cut two pieces in cream and create a hinged card
Hand cut a slightly smaller layer in pink to leave a narrow border around the edge
Hand cut another slightly smaller layer in cream and emboss this in the folder
Glue the two hand cut layers together
Cut one layer in cream and hand cut a layer in pink to fit beneath the die cut
Glue these two together just around the edges then add foam tape at the back
Select the florals that you wish to use and cut them in cream
Ink through the die before you remove the card. Abandoned Coral for the flowers and Mowed Lawn for the leaves
Cut one strip of the Graceful Floral Lace and use small foam pads in strategic places to the back of the die cut so that they cannot be seen from the front
(I love this die and it looks really pretty if you ink through it before removing the card)
Add the Two Way Street panel to the embossed layers and wrap the lace strip around them all.
Add small foam pads to the florals that you cut and arrange them and the leaves onto your card as you like.
Cut the sentiment of your choice form the Phrases several times and glue them together for strength.
Add to the card front as you like .
I then added Glossy Accents and Glitter to my die cuts
Vary the florals, sentiments, arrangement and the colours for another look to your card

Water Colour Wednesday - Happy !!

Hi Everybody,

These water colour words have been stamped from the designs by Tammy Tutterow for Spellbinders

This one is called Big Dose of Happy and it is quite a large stamp.

All I have done is water coloured the words and then added Glossy Accents to them to make them shine but it doesn't show up very well in the photograph.

I wrapped the layers with lace and ribbon and added in the flowers to the bow.

The background is a trimmed Naples Medallion and on top of that I have added the Labels 56 both from the new Renaissance Collection by Spellbinders

All the links are added below for you to see the products

Pretty Balloons ...

Hi Everybody,

So today I am adding in an extra YouTube video using those Brusho Crystal Colours  again for a fun effect

You will need some oval dies as well as the Brushos and some water coloured card.

I used some silver thread as the strings to my balloons but you could always draw them onto the card if you preferred

And to create the shine I used Glossy Accents.

The Video tutorial is called Oval Balloons and Glossy Accents  and it takes you step by step through the process to create these cards.

It's really easy to do and the longest part is waiting for the Glossy Accents to dry.

Don't be tempted to speed up the process with your heat tool though or you will spoil the effect.

Patience is a virtue !!
.
I hope you will give this try and there is another fun idea coming up on  my YouTube channel Thursday 30th June

Happy Valentines' Day

I hope you have all had a good day so far and got lots of Valentines from the one you love.

Griff loved his card but the first thing he said was ...." Some woman has left me a card,  I think she must know my wife though coz she's left me one of hers"

I got my card at breakfast,  along with some flowers and an invitation to dine out this evening..... of course I said Yes ... and so the diet will have to start tomorrow ..... again!

But it has pride of place ... alongside the one he bought for me on top of the TV.

Now I hope you like this very beautiful lady .....  her name is Maude Doodlebun , and she is from  Just Inklined

You will find many fabulous images there for you to download and colour in.... my favourite section is the "Wrinklies" they are just a wonderful set of fun characters ... for people of a certain age!

Maude has been coloured with Promarkers and I have used Glossy Accents on her glasses. Once it is dry it shines and looks like the lenses.

The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts  and they are a selection of Cherry Blossom,  10mm and 25mm white roses,  and some blue and white flowers that I don't know the name of.

The leaves are punched from the Ash Branch punch from   Leonie Em   You will find them in the product section under Extra large punches.

The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley and there are several different ones all on one sheet.  This one says ... Believe that you are wonderful..."   and I think that Maude is just that!!
