Creating a Background ...

Hi Everybody,

One of my commitments as part of the Spectrum Noir Design Team is to do short tutorials on ways to get the most from the pens.

Today  Spectrum Noir  have added my short video to their website and this is the card that I have created for the post.

Colors used ...
Hair          TN2, TN5, TN7
Skin          FS2, FS3, EB2, CR1
Eyes          DG2
Clothes      PP1, PP3, Blender  Symbol BP5

The image is from Saturated Canary and is a digital download so once you have paid for it you have it instantly .... no waiting for the postman to deliver it.

Te main purpose of the video is to show a simple way to create a background with the same pens you used to color the image.  The colors I have chosen are the BP5 and DG2  from the symbol on the T-shirt and her eyes.

There are many many more tutorials on the SN website and they cover many different techniques to give you the best result ever.

The embellishments to this card are Card Candi from Craftwork Cards   and the tiny flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts  and I popped one rose in her hair.

More tomorrow ...

Hugs xx

  1. So sweet love the image and you have coloured it so beautifully. Will pop over to see your demo as I am starting out using digi stamps and need as much info on colouring them as possible.

  4. Lovely image, lovely colouring Christina, although I use Promarkers I will have to go onto your tutorials and see if I can follow them with the colours. I need to do something as it looks like a 3 year old has coloured in my images. Hugs, Jen x

  5. Such a sweet card! Loved the video, too. When you print out an image from a CD, or a site, does the printer ink run when the alcohol marker touches it? I always stamp with Memento ink which doesn't seem to run, but I don't know if the printer ink is going to stay put? Thank you. BethAnn M.

  6. Yet another lovely card.
I didn't get a chance to look at yesterday's post till very late last night, but just want to let you know that I have been following your tutorials for some time, and have learned a lot from them, so I was mad on your behalf at another's comments. There will always be people, who seem to enjoy moaning, usually about nothing, I know from experience, within the hotel trade, that there are a lot of moaners who need to get themselves a real life, and realise that caustic remarks do hurt. We are not all huge corporations, many of us put our full life into our business.
Keep going with the tutorials and blog, Christina, you help inspire many.
    Thanks
