Tone on Tone ...

Hi Everybody,

This lovely card is one I was asked to make for a special occasion  complete with a matching box and I was very pleased with the finished product.

And I am happy to say so was the buyer.  I have created it all in white and used lots of flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts

They have the added sparkle of fine  iridescent glitter from Glitter Magic

The white satin ribbon is from Mei Flower  and it ties into a beautiful bow with a diamanté and pearl centre

The little butterflies are some that I bought on a roll from a craft show and I don't know who makes them ... and worse still I have run out of them and can't replace them ....

The  embossing folder and the sentiment are from Crafters Companion  and stamped in clear and embossed in silver powder.

And just a little footnote .... Isabella loved here name plaque and asked if I had made and said "Wow" when I said that I had.  Quite a compliment from a three year old .

Then she asked if she could put it in her bedroom at Nanas' house and it now sits by her bed so that she can see it easily whenever she goes to visit.

More tomorrow ...

Hugs xx

  1. Love it!!!! I am working on a very special book card to celebrate the birth of such a special baby. Almost finished now and it looks gorgeous. I am pleased with how it has come together. Guess that's retirement, although I don't officially finish till next Friday but no more shifts ;) x

  3. Christina, morning. Love the card, it looks so classy anyone would be delighted t to o receive it. As to your butterfly problem, I bought a roll of similar ones from the Range so in Birmingham about a month ago. Unfortunately the roll has no brand name but maybe if you can get to a Range shop locally, i can't or I would get one for you,you may be able to get a roll.
Best of luck and keep making your beautiful cards

  6. Good morning Christina,
You know children are our biggest critics so it doesn't matter what we say about your beautiful project, it words said it all and i am so glad that Isabella rightly loved her name. What a beautiful card all in the white which is my favourite combination out of all the colour schemes. There is always something so pure and serene about a white card and i am not surprised that the person it was for loved it. Beautiful.Well done Cathy, i know that you will enjoy your card when you have landed back on earth.
    Love and crafty hugs

  10. Christina, your great-granddaughter has a way with words, and so I'll say WOW to your beautiful card and WOW to your beautiful and intelligent great-granddaughter! I know that I do tend to go on, so, learning from Isabella I'll try to be more brief in future. No promises though!!

  14. I have those butterflies on a roll... I think I might have got them from the Range, too. I have checked the back of the cardboard roll they are on and the only web address given is http://silplc.com/ but this is a trade only site, unfortunately.

Good luck with the search for them!
