Dreamer ...

Hi Everybody,

The sentiment on this card has been stamped onto parchment and embossed in white ... and then curved around the panel to raise it from the base

The verse is from Sheena Douglass and is one of several on her  Little Bit Sketchy  range

The background has been done in Purple, Emerald Green and Ultra marine Brusho Crystal Colours.

These Crystals are so much fun to play with and no two panels will ever be the same.

Over the top of the background I have stamped with Versamark and heat embossed the butterflies with white powder

I have added in some of my baked Ikea dots and layered the coloured panel with lilac card onto a white base.

The finished effect is very vibrant and I am quite pleased with the way this card has turned out.

More tomorrow ...

Hugs xx

  5. What a stunning card! The sentiment is lovely but th e vibrant colors offset against the white embossed butterflies is quite striking. My husband recently came across a stack of parchment paper. He set a bunch aside for me. I appreciate seeing how you have used it here. Thank you for sharing.

  7. love this card. did you versamark and emboss after the brusho or did you use a resist and do it before? and can I be so bold as to ask why, from an artists point of view? thanks

  10. Hi, Christina,
I really like today's card. The background is so colourful and the embossed butterflies really stand out. I found out that if you want even bigger 'pearls' you can use pony beads. They melt the same as the Ikea ones but are bigger to begin with. I really enjoyed 'cooking' the ones you sent and was really pleased that they didn't stink when they were hot lol.

  11. Good Morning Christina :) Beautiful card this morning! Wanted to share... I found some beautiful vellum card stock at paperandmore.com. The pack I got came in 100 sheets for like $21/22 dollars something like that. Also, I picked up a tidbit on glueing vellum.... yes, glue. Elmers Craft Bond Glue Stick. It worked great on the vellum card stock.... couldn't see a hint of glue over a garnet piece of card stock. I was amazed. However, the glue does show through on vellum sheets.... like the kind you get at Hobby Lobby, the thinner stuff. Also, I purchased a little bag (1000 beads) of white Perler beads at Joanns. Will try baking them soon and then I can color them as I need them. It's raining cats and dogs here in Gaylord, Michigan today. I think I need to do some crafting! Big Hugs. Have a great day!

To Donna- where are the white perler beads at Joannes found? Wondering if you tried using them yet? I am close to a Joannes. Thanks for the tip on the vellum and the Elmers craft Bond Glue Stick.
Is the parchment paper the same I get at the grocery store or Costco on a roll in a box? ~blessings, Louise
