More with Alphabets ...

Hi Everybody,

Todays card is using the Alphabet dies that I have and this one is Donnas Alpha  from Spellbinders.

This can be done with any that you may have in your own crafting "Stash"

All you need to do is create your base card and one other layer from white card.

Mask off an area on the layer card and add ink to blend it out then remove your masking tape
Add in the word that you wish to spell so that it is half on the band of colour

Cut  it from the card... then add the cut letters to some double sided foam tape.

Emboss the lower part of the card and  add this panel flat to your base then place the raised letters back into the correct place.

Stamp and emboss your sentiment and add it to the card

Play with different words and colours to vary the look,

On the blue card I splashed some water on to the Distress Ink to bleach it out a little

Simple easy card and another way to get more for your money using dies that you may have had for quite some time.

More tomorrow ...

Hugs xx

  9. Hi Christina,
I think this bug I've got is eating my brain cells as, even though I read how you cut out the letters, for the life of me I couldn't work out how you put the card together!! After a nice cuppa, I tried again and finally worked out what you'd done...very clever, and very easy (when your brain is firing on all cylinders anyway lol). I think I really do need to save up and get some larger alphabet die sets as the one set I've got is teeny tiny and there's no way it would make a statement on a card, poor thing.
I do love the blue 'hugs' card as well. I think there are so many ways you can play with this technique to get fantastic cards. I'm sure that anyone who gets one would have to stop and wonder just how it was made :).

  10. Hi Christina
I love what you are doing with the alphabet dies. I have already made some Chistmas cards using the positive and negative of the letters making the words Noel and Merry Christmas. I will take pictures of the cards and send copies in an email.
