If you have had a good look through my blog pages and my website then you will be familiar with the hundreds of videos that I have done over the years. These videos have been done with the filming and editing from my husband ... affectionately called my "Film Crew"
But a little while ago I suggested that maybe I should learn do more by myself because although he is semi retired he does like to do some jobs occasionally for family and friends. On those days instead of putting things on hold for later I could simply get on with it and make my own films
I also mentioned this to a new friend that I have made, through blogging and filming, and I asked her advice. Christine Smith has a fabulous YouTube channel at Crafti Potential and she has been really supportive and encouraging in this my new adventure.
So with the help that I have had from these two people ... whose opinion I do respect ... I have made a start to make my solo films. The very first one was for the new Club Create 2017 that I added to the blog on Saturday
This one is different again and an experiment to see how it goes Let me know what you think of this new style video ... and I have my fingers crossed that you will enjoy it.
I will still be doing some the other way when Griff is free but I will be doing a lot more the new way. Here is the video ...
More tomorrow ...
Hugs xx
Morning Christina, a fabulous video and a lovely card, but I do miss your voice hope we hear you again when Griff is doing the videos. But a great one as your first on your own(apart from the club create 2017) I loved it.

Love the card, but much rather your old style of video, I found the music very distracting and miss having you talk us through the card, I hope you don't think I am being rude
ReplyDeleteAdorable card! I always enjoy and learn from your videos and this one is no exception. I kind of miss you speaking and explaining what you are doing but change is always an adjustment so I think I will get used to this new way. Congratulations on striking out on your own! Great video!
ReplyDeleteLoving this video Christina , lovely card .

love the card and love how you have made the video. Though I must say I miss hearing you talk us through the process. Well done!! you never cease to amaze me. xxx
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Christina :D so proud of your new found filming and editing skills :D I'm looking forward to all your new videos!!! Christine xxxxx
ReplyDeleteLovely new video style, Christina!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed it very much :))
Hi i found the music a bit annoying and prefer
ReplyDeleteyou talking and saying what you are doing but loved the card.
M Hinchcliffe
The music is really distracting - your voice over is so much better !!
ReplyDeleteA beautiful little card you have made here Christina....your video is great, but quite honestly, I do like to hear you speaking, but I do realise this is not always possible....well done to you, I am sure it will be a success...brave of you to take the leap !....luv Ursula xx
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Christina :) This was a very successful attempt to make a video. I know I couldn't do it. I liked the cheery music as an intro. It got to be a bit much though past the intro time. I grasp information better when can hear the instruction along with the visual performance. There are videos out there where you have to read everything and I get so focussed on reading that I can't focus on the visual performance. So... that's my two cents worth. I certainly look forward to your next one. And, of course, today's card was just adorable. Enjoy your day Dear Lady. Big Hugs.
ReplyDeleteWell done you, a very good video, well filmed. Although I much prefer to listen to a dialogue instead of the background music, which can become repetitive and intrusive after a while. I know from experience that it is difficult to film and talk at the same time, but perhaps you could do a voice over and leave out the music

Great card and video although I prefer to hear you. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteGreat job taping this! I love the adorable card too! TFS!
ReplyDeletevery pretty card . I enjoyed the video, but found the music too loud ,I think some thing softer, would be better. I do like hearing you talk, but I know sometimes its not possible to do.
ReplyDeleteHi Christina,
ReplyDeleteI am not a fan of the music but that can be muted. The video is wonderful and very well explained.
I did miss your wonderful voice though.
The card is absolutely lovely.
I love the independence you are showing, good for you.
I think we must all be the same Christina, the thing I love about your videos (besides how easy you make the cards look) is the way you talk us through everything, I did find the music a bit off putting as when I watch other videos other people put on is their never ending chatter while your voice is soothing. Well done though something I wouldn't be any good at lol
ReplyDeleteDo miss your lovely voice....however, the video was top notch - I could stop it along the way to study how you did something and what you used. Classy Christina!!!! Glad you will be doing a bit of both types of videos!!!
ReplyDeleteLove that little holder for your glue - where did you get that????????
Paper Hugs,
Jan
Was I watching a different video as I was listening to you talking all the way through. I know that Christine uses music on her videos. Now I feel I have to click on the link again to make sure I was watching the right thing but the Club Create video had you talking as usual :)
ReplyDeleteBejay xx
Ah-ha...I did click on the wrong video lol. Sadly I have to agree with the other commenters, Christina, I really don't like the videos with a music background and have to watch them muted. I'll still watch with no sound but I'll look forward to watching the ones that Griff films so that I can hear you talking us through everything :)

Hi Christina
ReplyDeleteThis is such a pretty and cute card. I adore elephants, my favourite animal
I also enjoyed your new style video tutorial, well done you. Look forward to watching many more

Lovely cat and I can usually watch a card video with just music and make out what is going on (maybe not exactly) but I have been making cards for several years. What about a new person just starting out? I also like to hear voices explaining size, colour of ink and how many was it birds you stacked together? Put me down for preferring voice explanations on your videos. Dianne
ReplyDeleteHi Christina
ReplyDeleteThe card you made is delightful. I hope you don't think me rude but I prefer to hear you speaking and explaining rather than music all the way through. The video is very good and you did a brilliant job
Best wishes

I found the video uplifting. The tune was happy. The card was cute and you made it so easy.
ReplyDeleteHello Christina,
ReplyDeleteThe card was just precious and the video was top notch, but I must agree with the majority. You have a lovely, soothing voice, one of the reasons I began following you and, of course, your beautiful card, especially the Spellbinders. I can understand Griff cannot alwayss be there and I appreciate your new style when he is unavailable.
I watch lots of videos and yours are among the best. The music was distracting, but maybe it could be very much softer in the background.I just prefer hearing you, you don't "chatter" but thoroughly explain everything in that sweet voice of yours. You just can't beat that.
Another beautiful card. I would prefer it if you did a voice over, rather than the music which I found to be so annoying that I put it
ReplyDeleteon mute. But well done for going solo with your videos.
Cute card, but I had to turn the sound off as I found the music annoying, much prefer listening to you. xx
ReplyDeleteMuch prefer you talking than that music, which I found very irritating.
ReplyDeleteYou are so good at explaining how to do things and you have a lovely voice.
