Easter Weekend 2020

Hi Everybody,

The weather is glorious here in the North West and  Ruby and I went for our  usual walk along the promenade .  On this beautiful Easter weekend there was only us there.

This was part of our walk looking along the prom towards the Tower, everything was deserted and it is so sad.

Normally this road would be full of traffic and people making their way for fun and games into town or going on the Pleasure Beach which you can just see .
The second picture is from the same spot just looking the other way and there's not a soul in sight

It is usually full of people on bikes, roller skates, with babies in pushchairs and of course the dog walkers.

Children laughing and calling to each other as they make their way to the sand to build castles

Many other countries are in the same position and I feel so sorry for people who are suffering at this time.

And so grateful to the people who are keeping the country ticking over just by going to work. Stay Safe all of you

I wonder how long it will take to get back to a normal kind of life and if  we will ever recover from the effects of Covid 19

More tomorrow ...

Hugs xx

  1. Strange sight, same here in Southport. At least this means people are sticking to the staying at home rule so that people like me have less to worry about going into work (Frontline NHS staff).

  2. Good Morning Christina. Ohhhh what a familiar sight. We have had many happy weekends there in Blackpool ... But... Never have I seen it like your photos. Such a shame and I feel for the businesses who can't make their living at the moment. Let's all pray 🙏🙏 that this will get better very soon. Sending hugs and best wishes to everyone. Kind regards Ann Toppcards Leeds. STAY SAFE EVERYONE 😘

  4. Our honeymoon was in Blackpool - 60yrs ago in August. We have been back a few times over the years and its certainly sad to see it deserted. Hopefully everything will get back to normal before too long. Maybe we may be able to visit again for our Diamond wedding! Our planned Baltic cruise has been cancelled. Disappointing but better safe than sorry. Take care and stay safe everyone xx

  5. Very difficult times, I am looking after a couple of people in my street, with shopping etc as they cannot go out. But I too commend all those who are keeping the country running during these difficult times. We all need to keep the nation in prayer....luv Ursula xx

  6. So strange Christina seeing deserted places, I used to love going around the shops browsing now we’ve been lucky enough to get a click and collect food order and it’s so stressful venturing out, unpacking shopping and wiping everything down it’s just like a bad dream I wish we could all wake up from. Take care stay safe Christina and Ruby xxx thanks for inspiring us to keep going xx

  7. Hi Christina
Oh what a strange sight seeing Blackpool like this. I love Blackpool as you know but have never seen it so deserted even in winter but in these uncertain times it's better to be safe than sorry. Stay safe and well yourself and little Ruby. Thinking of you
    Hugs and best wishes
