Hi Everybody,
Thank you all so much for your messages and concern for Ruby and here is an update on her progress.
She has had a blood test and it has shown that her liver is not working properly. It is not cleaning the toxins from her body and it is this that is making her sick. She has an infection in the folds in her lips and it is not getting any better because of this problem. So now she is on antibiotics and other stuff to help her and she seems to be responding to the treatment. She is not back to her old self yet and I will let you know how we go on over the next few weeks.

Thank you for the update Christina. Such a very worrying time for you. Sounds like no quick fixes unfortunately but hopefully gradual improvement. Fingers crossed and sending best wishes for you all.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the update on Ruby. We worry so much about our animals. As they cant tell us, we have to look out for them being a bit off their old selves and get to vet asap. Glad she's on antibiotics and picking up a bit. Hope you are ok also, as the worry can make us feel not up to par. Lots of love to both. Mags Wilkie xx
ReplyDeleteOh sweetie I am so so sorry for you and poor Ruby. I pray the meds will be working for her and she is back to her sweet self again. I will continue to include her in my prayers to St. Francis of Assisi -- patron saint for all animals and I will ask him that she not be in pain and that she is comfortable and back to her routines with Dougal and her new play kitty kat toy :). Hope you are getting some rest too. For some reason I did not get an e-mail to tell me about Ruby's update so came here to the blog and found it. Be well all of you. Kathy O.
