A small tub goes such a long way, but I would advise you to decant it into a larger container as the flakes tend to swell once they get to the air.
Plus they also fly everywhere so don't have your windows open or the fan on when you are adding them.
There are lots of different ways they can be used and double sided sheets are just one of them.
The flakes come in lots of different colours and mixes too, some with red flakes, or how about green ones, or blue ??
You can also get them in copper and pewter as well as gold and silver. and so you can have a really good play and see which you prefer.Because there are so many in a pot it is a good idea to get together with another crafty friend and buy two different colour ways and then swap some over so you get some of each.
Here is the video ...
This video has been added to a playlist on YouTube about adding flakes to your card and will be shown at the end of the video, but it also includes glitter and foil to the design as well.
Bye for now ...

Good morning Christina, today’s cards are truly luxurious! My favourite is the lilac one. The last time I had the gilding flakes out was disastrous. It was a hot day, a year or two ago and I was crafting with the fan on ~ I don’t need to say anymore, do I? It took me ages to clean up and I’ve never used them since! Have a good day. Hugs, Maggie Coleman xx
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh at this comment because I have been there too. Cxx

Morning - 🎂 birthday girl. Hope you have a great day. If memory serves me well I have some gilding flakes down the back of a cupboard. May have to get them out. I’ll never get that cleaning done!!! Janet Boyne

ReplyDeleteYour cards are beautiful. Sadly never got on with gilding flakes. Have to look at your video so maybe, maybe they can come out from the back in the cupboard. 🤗x

Hi Christina Very pretty cards. I haven't used my flakes for awhile. Time to start using them again. Have a sunny, warm week. Take care, stay safe. Vicki L Phillips
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! It seems to me that I had some of the gilding flakes way back when, and I probably have some leftovers somewhere! One day I'll come across them! Love the look they add to a card. Yours are lovely!
ReplyDeleteMany happy returns of the day, hope you have done something nice to celebrate

ReplyDeleteGood Evening Christina and all that visit today. Firstly I hope you have had a wonderful birthday on this glorious day. And I hope you received birthday cards as lovely as you make and teach us to recreate.
ReplyDeleteToday s cards are as always beautiful and I love the gilding flakes, but, they don't like me. Every time I get them out. I have some sort of accident . And they end up all over the place. So they are packed away in a drawer till I feel I need another try. So Thankyou Christina. Sending hugs 🤗 and best wishes to everyone. Please stay safe and well 🙏
Kind regards Ann Toppcards in Leeds
Hope you've had a good day! I love both your cards! Maybe I shall buy some

Have a wonderful birthday. Two pretty cards - love the colours.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards, Christina...I LOVE GILDING FLAKES, unfortunately so does one of my cats so when I'm using them the only fur baby allowed in the same room is the pup as he's happy laying on the floor with one of his bones. I love the touch of class they give a project and I use mine on my mixed media work as well as my cards. Bejay x
ReplyDeleteNever used these flakes but they look very impressive ,mind you I don't think mine would look anything like your's Christina. haha. Doris Shawcross
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, I like the way you used the gilding flakes in these!
