Some time ago I asked if anyone living near to me in Blackpool would be interested in joining a class and leaning how to make some really pretty cards.
I got a phone call from one lady who was enquiring for her and her friend and she said she would call me back.... and I thought to my self .... will she???
But she did and she booked a day and time that suited them and on the appointed day they arrived.
We made a pretty three paneled card in the first class and they seemed very pleased with what they had achieved as they are relatively new to cardmaking.
After the class they said they would let me know when they wanted to come again and of course I with self doubt thought that was it.
Later that evening one of them rang me and said that they wanted to come EVERY week and I was so pleased... and we made a regular commitment to a weekly class in my craft room.
The featured card is last weeks make and they chose the colors that they wanted to make their card in.
This is my offering and the guideline for us to follow.
They chose yellow and lilacs for their cards and both were delighted with what they had created.
They are very willing and eager to learn and it has been a pleasure each week to work with them... can't wait till we start using the dies.
And today sees the third class ... so I have to go now and get everything ready for my lovely ladies Brenda and Mary.
More tomorrow...
Hugs xx
What fun! The card is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI wish I lived near you Christina, how wonderful to be taught by you to make your beautiful cards. I stare in wonderment each time you put one of your creations on here and can only hope that one day I will be able to make something half as good as your cards. I have used your You Tube videos for help and inspiration and they have helped tremendously, thank you for that. xxxx
ReplyDeleteGood morning Christina, a stunning card and two very lucky ladies to be tutored by you.

Good morning Christina,
ReplyDeletewhat a lovely card for the ladies to have the pleasure of making Christina, if only i lived closer, but afraid Central Scotland is a bit far from Blackpool to come each week. I love to see new crafters get a buzz from crafting like i do and it doesn't matter what craft it is. The ladies are coming on a treat if they made a lilac representation of your blue and it must be a joy for you showing these eager "young" newbies the joys of card making. Hope you have fun and enjoyment again today with Brenda and Mary and i just wish i was there as well.
Love and crafty hugs

Lucky Brenda and Mary - they have a very talented teacher. Lovely card from last week's class. Pat x
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to be able to live close enough to take lessons from you! And, it's always more fun to do something with someone else than to try it alone :) Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHi Christina

ReplyDeleteOh, Christina, I'm green with envy. Three years ago I moved from an area in Hampshire that's dripping with craft clubs and workshops down to Cornwall where I can find NOTHING!! If I were in Blackpool I'd sign up with you in a New York Minute. Your cards are always beautiful, and I subscribe to your You Tube channel to get all the latest tips. You make everything so clear with nice easy steps. If you ever feel like a road trip...xx
ReplyDeleteCan I commute?? Hmmm. I would just love to. I could live with my cousin in St Anne's? Now there's a thought. But! Him indoors would miss me so I can't. But I would just LOVE to be one of your students. You and your YouTube videos are a staple in my 'craft room' as you have taught, and are still teaching, me so much.
ReplyDeleteBig hugs. Katy
It just aint fair when are you coming over here!!!!!

Lovely card, a couple of lucky ladies Christina. This made me chuckle as my sister in law Mary is due over from Canada on 16 the May and we spend the whole week driving around doing craft shopping by day and card making by night. Both of us have come on leaps and bounds following your tutorials and would be thrilled to be closer to Blackpool even for one visit.
ReplyDeleteChristina,
ReplyDeleteHow lucky those ladies are to have a personal one on one with you. Makes me wish I lived near you so that I may have the same opportunity. One class and see what a beautiful card was created, what volumes that speaks of the teacher. I love the color. Well, I'll have to settle with hopefully one day winning one of your cards.
