Banner Basics 3

This  card is  created  using a  digital  image  from  the magic  pen of   KennyK Downloads    and is  this one is "Goldfish Boy"

He has been coloured with Spectrum Noir and the background papers are from the CD "The Next Big Thing" from Just Inklined

The boys name has been added to Banner Basics 3  which is one of the amazingly inexpensive dies available from
Save on Hobbies which sells "Close Out" dies

There is a choice of  different Tassels in this set and you just need to cut out the ones you want to use on your project.

I have added  twine around the  panel and a used  a  small gold  coloured  star charm in the  top right corner.

The name and the age are small  self  adhesive  bubble stickers to just finish the card off.  Job done ...

The video  Spectrum Noir Jeans will help you if you are new to colouring in the jeans ... and they don't have to be blue either.

Blue Jeans

Most teenagers these days like to chill about in jeans and a T-shirt  and although I am not a teenager I have lately started to wear these my self.

It is such a comfortable outfit and of course many images now also feature the same kind of outfits

And so staying with the Spectrum Noir pens I thought I would add a video that covered the colouring of Jeans.

This young man is from the magical pen of KennyK Downloads  and you will find some wonderful images there if you browse around.

And if colouring is not your thing then you can also buy them ready coloured for you just to add to a card.

I have added this Tutorial to the series on these pens and I hope you will find it useful.

Spectrum Noir Jeans  will also show you some variations in the colour scheme so that you can vary the jeans that your character is wearing.

The finished card is an 8" square and the sentiment is from the "Pretty Tuff" CD from Polkadoodles

There no flowers to tell you about on this card (Sigh!)  But there will be again soon !!

Slugs and snails ....

If you're like me then you are simply in heaven whenever you have to make a card for a girl.

You can go to town on all the lovely embellishments that can be added ... Flowers, Ribbons and Pearls in abundance and pretty pastel pinks and lilacs Mmmmm Mmmmm !!

But every so often we need to make a card for the boys and then we have to start head scratching to come up with the ideas.

This image was free in a magazine pullout... and there were lots of them on the pages.

I scanned it into the PC and now I can print them off to the size I want whenever I need a new image.

I have coloured all these images with either Spectrum Noir or Promarkers.
This young man is from the LillyBoo collection from Cuddly Buddly

There are many images to choose from and they suit all age groups and occasions.

They are not expensive.... and because they are digital downloads they are yours instantly.

The name on this card makes it more personal and I  added the wall background to keep the boyish look.

This one was from   KennyK Downloads

The digital papers are all in shades of blue... and are free from  Summertime Designs

You will find lots of papers for you to use and this one is the Fathers and Fedoras Kit.

Buttons are always a good addition to male cards and the sentiment for this is from the "Pretty Tuff" CD from PolkaDoodles

But even though it is a male card doesn't mean  it can't have some pearly swirls on it.

And this one just adds a little more to the Tug of War boys from KennyK.

Faux Leather Effect

Here is another Faux Effect and this one uses masking tape so you will need to raid the household box.

It is another easy to create look and is really good for your masculine cards as they are not really appreciative of flowers, ribbons and pearls .... or any other "Bling"  for that matter.

You will need some Versamark and clear embossing powder too ... but the effect is quite amazing once you get the powder melted, then you can add whatever you want to the card to suit the recipient.

If you make it in paler colours then it can be adapted for your more feminine cards but I have kept these darker ... just for a change.

Back to pinks and flowers later in the week.

The  topper with the dog  has  the Faux Tile effect from yesterday, and I have used the Aged Mahogany Distress Ink for the Faux Leather Effect.

The image has been coloured with Promarkers.
This image also has the Faux Tile Effect in the background.

Both these are from    KennyK Downloads   and there you will find some fabulous images for you to colour yourself.

The shapes have been cut with Spellbinders  ...  (so no surprise there then)  and added to the card with foam pads to raise them up.

You will of course notice the absence of pretty flowers ... and it will take me a week to get over that, but I couldn't resist the ribbons and a few gemstones in the corners.

I hope you will give this effect a try and combine it with the others from yesterday and those to follow.

Well that's my post for today and now I am going to get ready to go out to dinner because.... It's my birthday and I am going out with my lovely husband .... who bought me the Spellbinders on Saturday for the occasion.
