Monogrammed Cards

Hi Everybody,

I have covered monochrome cards in the past where they have been just one colour for the whole card, but today I am sharing monogrammed cards using just one letter.

This one is for my eldest daughter Amanda and the other is for my youngest daughter Victoria. And I thought it was an excellent way to use  those Alphabet dies on smaller cards.

I am really pleased with the result and I am sure your recipient would be too.

I have used the solid letters and then covered them with the filigree overlays to give a lovely delicate feel to the letter.

You can use any flowers, leaves or shape to the background that you have in your own stash.

And the same with the embossing folders, just use any that you have.

If you wanted to make a larger card and you also have the lower case alphabets then you can spell out the complete name

Lower Case Alphas

Hi Everybody,

Always a useful addition to your crafting goodies and I had added quite a few videos using both the upper and lower case alphabets from Card Making Magic.

There are several different fonts to choose from in the collections but here I am featuring the Lower Case set that matches beautifully with the original Upper Case.

You can add any name you need to your projects if you have an alphabet.

I have added this video to the Playlist on YouTube so I hope you enjoy watching this short one.

You will find other ideas in the playlist that you may like to try and they are a lot of fun to work with.
And if you can't add the letters in a straight line ... then add them wonky to start and that way nobody will know any different.

Words, words, words!

Hi Everybody,

Today I am sharing some more words cards using the Alphabet die sets in my collection.

This card is so easy to make and don't forget that you can also use the other portion on another card.

The flower is once again the Layered Flowers stamps die set. I have added this to an embossed panel

The blue pearls are from Want2Scrap and they are self adhesive flat backed ones that can be added anywhere.

It can also be helpful to have the Lower case Alphabet to go with the Upper Case as this extends your usage so much more.

For this card I have cut the word from some Dotty card and added them to a stamped background.

And for this I have added some numbers to balloons as a Birthday Card.

This is something that would be useful for any cards you make for children, as they love to show off their ages, unlike adults who like to hide theirs!!

Alphabet 2fer1 …

Hi Everybody,

Having an Alphabet in your crafting stash to me is an absolute necessity.

It means that you can add any name, date or occasion that you want to you cards.

The other benefit is that you can get two for the price of one on any  of your designs, and having the lower case of the same upper case die set is a bonus and will extend what you can do for your creations

For these cards I have used the cut out word from this pink back ground  to create the second card.

The negative piece has made the other and both look equally as good as each other.

They are both in a landscape slimline design and will fit into a standard six envelope

And these two have been created from polka dot card
Using the letters on another card.

For these I have used the lower case alphabet with upper case “ Y” and I love the look.

Alphabet Dies

Hi Everybody,

Todays card is created as a 5x7 base and I have added in the  Upper Case Alphabet Dies to the top.

I have added in the Overlays in gold glitter card to add extra dimension to the word, and they are designed to match perfectly the Alphabet

The glitter card has been create with a double sided sticky sheet and the glitter burnished into the sticky part, and the word cut out.

Tip the rest of the glitter back into your pot for the next time you need it.

The word has then ben raised up onto some foam pads to give height and make them stand out a little more.

The flowers are cut from the Landmark Collection Ultimate Number & Overlays Set and I have done them in black and just intertwined them with the letters.

The card base is pink but the background paper I have had for years and I don't know where it is from

Easy Pop Up Card

Hi Everybody,

It's blowing a gale here so I am glad to be at home. Ruby has gone back to Doggy Day Care this week and she will get to play with all her friends. I always say she is going to Playschool and she knows exactly what I mean when I say that to her. She loves going and they all go out for a walk come rain or shine. Unlike me who is only a fair weather walker !!

Todays card is a very simple take on the pop up card and for this I have used the Alphabet  Upper and Lower case dies ... plus the Overlays for the Upper case.

The leaves have been coloured with Distress Oxide Inks and blending brushes for a faded look and they have been intertwined with the letters.

I used the Rambling Rose stencil to create the background and added gemstones for berries on some of the leaves.

Imagine this style of card done with peoples names added for a table setting at a dinner party. That would be a novel way to welcome your guests and is not hard to create.

Alphabet Card

HI Everybody,

I am sure you all know just how useful an Alphabet set can be for any of your projects.

Especially if your recipient has an unusual name.

Couple that with a numbers set and you can add whatever you would like to your cards and boxes.

For the cards shown I have used an inlay technique with the letters cut from the stencilled background pattern using both the Upper  and  Lower case

They have then been reinserted with foam pads to make them stand out. You may find that edging each letter in a darker colour will also make them more prominent.

Decorated the rest of the card front with whatever suits your style and there you will have a lovely card ready to send.
