Wednesday Card Class

Hi Everybody,

You may remember that I told you  at the end of one class  my ladies had created a shaving foam background ready to be made into a card at the next class ...

Well here they are from last Wednesdays Class

This first one is Marys' and it is in lovely shade of lemon and peach from the Spectrum Noir refills

We have glittered the both background panels with Glitter Magic  and they look so sparkly.

Mary  has teamed hers with peach ribbon and layered it with peach card and  added in some lovely peach and orange flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts   and it looks fantastic.

Brenda has gone for purple and green with a hint of pink  and then sparkled the background in the same way

Her card has been teamed with white ribbon from  Mei Flower

Her choice of  WOC flowers is  lilacs and purples and it looks very opulent and the white panel is  embossed

Both have the addition of Hatpins pushed into the bows and I am so pleased with both cards ... and so are they

Well done ladies you're doing great !!

Fun Card ...

Hi Everybody,

This is a little fun card from the Create&Craft shows that has been featuring Spellbinders Victorian Collection this week.

The main bundle was launched on Friday and is now sold out. But there is a fantastic deal of 3 for the price of 2 due to last the rest of the week.

This card has used the centre die from the Bow Elegance and I have added in some fringing along the  bottom of the card.

The Bow Couture is used also along the centre of the card with a pearl centre.

This collection is exclusive to C&C for the next few weeks but I really don't know when it will be available in other place or countries.

If there is something that you would like from this wonderful collection then you will need to get your skates on as all of it is selling out quickly.

Royal Circle ...

Hi Everybody,

The response to the new Victorian Collection by Spellbinders has been just amazing and I knew that you would love these dies as much as I do.

Here is another card from the show featuring the Royal Circle on top of the Victorian Medallions Three

They all work so beautifully together and I know you wont be disappointed when they get to you.

The whole collection of 85 dies has sold out today in the the two hour show with Nigel May ... and some of the single sets have also gone in the rest of the day.

What a roller coaster of a ride this has been as these dies only launched worldwide last Friday and there was supposed to be enough for the whole week ... but nope they have gone.

They are exclusive to Create and Craft for three weeks so you wont be able to get them any where else until after that time

My flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and any pearls and flourishes that I use are from Want2Scarp

The Glitter that I use is from Glitter Magic and that adds the sparkle to my flowers.

So off to watch Downton Abbey now after a long sand busy day  ... but there will be

Heirloom Ovals ...

Hi Everybody,

This beautiful creation is one of the Victorian Collection from Spellbinders.

It has been shown on the Create and Craft show and is made using the Heirloom Ovals.

I absolutely love these dies as they are so much my style and I love all the pretty lace effects that they produce.

And in some flowers, ribbons and pearls and there you have not just a pretty card but a really good title for a blog name ..... YaaaY!!

I cannot name the brands I use on TV but these  flowers are  from Wild Orchid Crafts

They have the addition of Glitter Magic  and all the pearly bits are from Want2Scrap

Several cards have been given away on the shows and I really hope you will like them when they get to you.

So I am going to prepare for the 7pm show and chatting at present to some of the others guests that are on today.

Having a good time and enjoying myself ... see you later and of course I will be back tomorrow

Fancy Labels Tags One ...

Hi Everybody,

This little card is made using the   Fancy Labels Tags One    that I showed on Create and Craft TV

It is another of the new smaller Labels dies but again very versatile.

Here I have cut it out three times using the largest and middle pieces to the set to make the frame.

And then I have looped them together onto an embossed panel and threaded a banner through the middle of them.

The words are from   Sentiments One   and if your writing is as bad as mine then this is a handy little set to have on hand

The flower is from the Create a Flower  range and this is the Aster.   The  Ivy is also from Spellbinders and has leaves that can be added to the branch

Pretty die ... pretty flower ... pretty card ...

Dove of Peace

Hi Everybody,

This little card is created from  Spellbinders Labels Four    which is an older die.

But there is a  video tutorial that will show you how to get the look for yourself ...
Labels Four Tutorial

If you don't have a die cutting machine the actual Book Card Kits can be bought in
"My Shop"

Just scroll down the page and you will find them ... there are six pages, two ovals for you to add a sentiment or  flowers,   and a card stand to help you display the finished card.

But the feature on this card is the   Dove of Peace  which is in the Christmas Holiday Collection     from  Spellbinders

The card is for a  baby so don't just use the Dove of Peace for Christmas.   It is versatile enough to be used for Anniversaries, Christenings,  Confirmations or as I have one here for a New Baby

Gold and White

Hi Everybody,

I had a really busy day yesterday preparing samples for the new Victorian Collection  from Spellbinders.

It is featured in the Pick Of The Week with Create and Craft TV  -- 26th Sep - 3rd Oct and so no post yesterday

But today I have this card  which certainly shines in Bright gold and white and would make a lovely wedding card.

It is created using the  Labels Thirty Nine  from Spellbinders and is another of the new Classic Collection.

The  plain Labels are excellent for creating the base to your cards or for matting and layering and they all work so well together.

The gold part to this card is using the Decorative Accents  and I have matted them with the plain ones cut in white.

I have also added into the mix the Decorative Elements  to add more of the filigree pattern to the layers.

And apart from the flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts  there is no other adornment

But those ingredients are more than enough to make this a really pretty card.

All the colored words are links and by clicking them it will take you to another page and will show you what the dies look like and they are a wonderful addition to your crafting "Stash"

Man Card ??

Hi Everybody,

Every so often we are asked to make cards for a man and if you are like me with all the frilly stuff then it is not a task you relish

But Spellbinders have brought out some dies that can maybe help you with that style of card and they are part of the Trendy and Simple Collection

This particular one is called Glass Effects   and it is very abstract.   I am showing you two cards and how not to waste anything from your card

For this card I have used blue Adorable Scorable and teamed it with white.

I have cut the die out just as it is but I have removed the main part of it very carefully so that all the small pieces stay in place in the die.  (Keep this safe for the next card)

Then I covered all the pieces with some double sided adhesive sheet.  Remove the backing from one side only and pressed it on to the pieces.

I made sure that they are all stuck to the  sheet ... then again carefully remove it  from the die with all the pieces now stuck to it

In between all the small pieces I have added some really silvery glitter and pressed it onto all the sticky lines ... then all you need to do is layer it up and add it to your card front.

The word is cut from Sentiments 5 and hey presto a card suitable for a man.

This second card is using the die cut itself  and layering it with the blue card and some black glitter card

I have added in a Conversation Bubble 1  and added in the word from Sentiments 3

And there you have two cards and nothing is wasted and both manly enough to give ... to a man !!

Spellbinders Labels Forty ...

Hi Everybody,

I have used Spellbinders for many years now and when I first started I  bought any that took my fancy.

But as I have progressed I learned that I get a lot more from the sets by buying a little more carefully.

For example I have the plain Labels Forty   which is excellent for matting and layering ... but if you team it with it's other counterparts then it will work even better for you.

This card base is created with Labels Forty  Decorative Accents    and layered up with others in the sets.

The addition of the verse from Lili of the Valley and a little Gingham ribbon  from Mei Flower and you have a pretty card ready to give.

This one is created with  the plain Labels Forty to create the base and then layered with   Labels Forty Decorative Elements   to add the lace pattern.

The wording is Sentiments Four and I have trimmed it down to fit the card.

The single flowers is from Wild Orchid Crafts and it is sparkled up with Glitter Magic

Just some ways to use the Labels and matching dies for cards that are fancy but very easy to make.

And if you click the links you will be able to see ALL the products used on the cards

Friday Freebie 026

Hi Everybody,

Gosh these Fridays are coming round quick ... too quick !!

But here we are with another one and this time I have chosen a pale blue and white ... with an enormous double bow ...

Sorreee if you don't like big bows ... next week I will find a smaller one especially for the FF

This card has a lovley verse on it for your friend and so I am sure that some one will enjoy giving it to someone special in their lives.

It uses  Seville from the Sue Wilson Spanish Collection and it is a die that I really love.

My ladies used it to add to boxes and I added their designs to the blog yesterday for you to see.

So if you would like this card to be on its way to you then just leave me a comment at the end of the post and a name will be drawn later.

I am not going to draw the winner until tomorrow to give those who live at the other end of the world  time to add their comments.

But if you have left one please come back and check if you are the new owner of this card.

Wednesday Card Class

Hi Everybody,

Just a quick post to show you what my ladies made yesterday to compliment the card they created a couple of weeks ago.

Neither of them had made boxes before and so this was quite a change for us.
But they have both produced something to be proud of  that matches their cards beautifully.

We used the same die for the box lid that we had used to create the card and it is  Seville from Sue Wilson  Spanish Collection .. available from JGD Crafts

The flowers are a selection from Wild Orchid Crafts and both ladies love these flowers as much as I do

And of course by now they are also used to adding sparkle to their blooms with Glitter Magic

At the end of the class we had a little spare time and so we played with some shaving foam in preparation for the next class when we will make a card using the unique paper that they have produced.

Trendy Collection ...

Hi Everybody,

Another card from the Trendy Collection by Spellbinders and this one is called Floral

To make the card I have cut it once in pink and again in white and then mixed up the panel with pink and white

Each of the flowers has a tiny pearl in the centre and the wide satin ribbon from   Mei Flower   is wrapped around the centre of the card to hide the join.

The button on the bow was once on a cardigan I used to wear ... until I put it in the washing machine and ruined it ... stupid girl !!

But waste not want not and at least I put the buttons off it to good use.

The wording is from Sentiments Three and is simply cut out in pink and stuck to the white panel.  I used the new Leafy Squares and teamed it with Twisted Metal Tags

Altogether a pretty card and I have lined it too

Home again

Hi Everybody,

Here we are back at home safe and sound and rested again.  The show was a real success and I am now looking forward to the next one.

The show was so busy with the sell out that we didn't have time to read out any emails which was a pity as I know that some of you wrote in.

This pretty card was a sample that I made but I don't think it was shown.

It uses the Snowflake View for the background and one of the Fancy Labels Tags for the sentiment.

The flowers are of course from Wild Orchid Crafts and they are sparkled with Glitter Magic

A diamanté flourish is used under the flowers and that is from Want2Scrap  and the beautiful pink ribbon is from Mei Flower  with the bows centre from WOC

I am not allowed to mention brand names on TV but you can be sure that they are there and you all know what I use any way

All sold out ...

Hi Everybody,

I have had a lovely weekend ... doing the unexpected shows with the Grand Calibur  on Friday ... meeting up with some friends on Friday night .... doing the workshop on Saturday ... and then doing another show today on Create and Craft ... and having a complete sell out of the Grand Calibur.

I can't tell you how  pleased I am and  tomorrow I am going home a day earlier than expected.

I have a lot of   samples to make for an  up coming  show with  Spellbinders on the 26th with some beautiful new dies and I really hope you will join me then

So today with some free time we went for a wander around Peterborough and one of the places we visited was the Cathedral ... and it was lovely.

The atmosphere was enhanced by the organ music that was being played as we walked around and I really enjoyed the day.

On the way to the Cathedral there are water fountains that spring up intermittently in the large square.

I spotted this pigeon taking advantage of the unexpected shower that came his way and he reveled in the water spray.

It was lovely to watch his antics as he splashed in the water on a lovely warm day.

Now tomorrow I head for home and I will be back to adding some new cards to the blog pages ... and posting off the card to the Friday Freebie for last week.

If you bought your Grand Calibur  from the shows that I have done then thank you so much from myself and Spellbinders

Keeping you posted ...

Hi Everybody,

Here I am with an update on my adventure so far.

We arrived in Sutton in Ashfield to stay with some friends ... Kim ( on the left)  and Mick (not shown)

We had a lovely night out and went for a really tasty meal

After a good nights sleep Kim and I went off to play with some Spectrum Noir at JGD Crafts

I was a little nervous to start but soon settled down  once we got started.

I feel that the day went well and everybody seemed to go away happy.

We started at about 10am and I tried to cover as much as I could with both pens and pencils

But both are subjects that have so much that can be covered for some wonderful effects and of course we could have gone on for a lot longer

The class wrapped up about 4pm and everybody went away with  images that they had colored and more that they can practise with in the next few weeks.

Thank you everybody for your very warm welcome ... you all made the day very pleasurable.

Janet at JGD Crafts runs regular  monthly events such as todays and has a variety of guest for you to enjoy ... and the lunch she prepares for her class is second to none.

For more information about the "Events" or to join  the weekly classes for card making or coloring then  visit the website at JGD Crafts

Kim and I left to go back to her house and then Griff and I headed back to Peterborough ready for tomorrows Create and Craft show at 12 noon ... hope to see you there

And tonight back at the hotel I have put my computer on and the Friday Freebie card has been claimed too ... so thank you Janice the card will be on its way to you as soon as I get home

I have not forgotten to add in my usual Friday Freebie card and so here it is for this week

This is in a vibrant shade of pink and sure to please all you pink lovers ... but for those who don't like the big bows ... sorrreee this one is huge !!

The organza ribbon tied in a double bow is from Mei Flower

The background is the Tied Together die from JGD Crafts  and it is layered over flowery pink paper

The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts  and into the corsage I have added some of my pearl sprays

The pearls around the frame are from Want2Scrap   and the glitter on the flowers is from Glitter Magic

New Labels - 42

Hi Everybody,

Labels are always handy to have in your crafting "Stash" as they are so very useful and this is another new addition to Spellbinders

I have used both the plain Labels 42  and the Decorative Accents  that match, and there are also Decorative Elements to further enhance your cards

The card is made from good old Kraft card and white and makes for a very easy on the eye combination

The Kraft card I have used is from AnnaMarie Designs

It has been embossed with the A4 folder from SB called Garden Lattice

I have added in a flourish from   Want2Scrap  along the right hand side in the Creme Caramel color.

But the main difference between these photos is obviously the flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts

And what a change there is by adding just five flowers and three leaves to the mix.

Simply arranging them along the side of the sentiment has added so much more to the look and I have sparkled them up with fine glitter from Glitter Magic

I liked the first one ...  but the autumn colors of the flowers on the second photo make it so much more.

Just a little reminder that I will be on Create and Craft earlier than originally stated ... I am now there at 9am  and 1pm tomorrow on the Grand Calibur Crafting shows ... hope you can join me !!

Create and Craft News ....

Hi Everybody,

When I started this adventure with Spellbinders and Create and Craft TV I was warned that change was on going all the time and to be prepared for it  ...  and that simply was the drawback  of "Live" TV

So I have now been asked to do two extra shows and  I will  be on your screens on ....

 Friday 12th September at 9am and 1pm

The rest of my schedule remains the same with the "workshop" at JGD Crafts and then back to C&C for more shows on Sunday and Monday.

I hope you will be around to view the show on Friday as well ... so now got to go and pack to leave a day earlier

Trendy and Simple ...

Hi Everybody,

Here is another card made from the new Spellbinders for this year and it was so easy to put together ... perfect for that last minute card.

It is the Trendy and Simple Range and this is the Contemporary Strip teamed with the Sentiments Three.

The embossing folder is the same as yesterday and with the addition of some ribbon and dotted with pearls from Want2Scrap   the card is done.

The lovely pale green card is from the Adorable Scorable colors and it is so fresh and the beauty of this card  is that it does not crack when it is scored

So no flowers on this card but it would suit any occasion and was quick and easy.

Have an evening just die cutting and then you will always have some ready and waiting to be used whenever someone says ..
"Can you make me a card ... er now ???"

I have linked to the dies on the Spellbinders website ... but they are very very new and this is to give you a taster ... shop around fore the best price

They are to show you what you will get in the set and this one is beautiful ... shop around for the best price in your country

The background is an embossing folder called Diamond Fleur De Lys   and it is very deep with a lovely edge to it.

The large top panel is Fleur De Elegance and there are three dies in the set ... all pictured.

I have teamed it up with yellow ribbon and some pretty yellow flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts

Now yellow is not one of my go to colors but I think this card turned out just fine

The card is the hinged card style and has been lined to match the front.

Hope you like ...

Card Class Designs ...

Hi Everybody,

So here is another successful card created at the little card class that is held in my craft room each Wednesday.

Brenda and Mary made these lovely cards using the Sue Wilson Spanish collection Seville

Both cards are really pretty and this die is available from   JGD Crafts

The ladies chose a selection of    Wild Orchid Crafts   flowers to add to their designs  and  they add the glitter  from   Glitter Magic   to them  ... wonder where they got that from ???

The ribbon is from my "Stash" and the dazzlers are also some I had.   The verses are from Crafters Companion

Brenda has used pale blue Mirror card for her card and Mary has used the Candy Floss Pink from the Adorable Scorable range by   HunkyDory

They both went away happy again this week and are looking forward to next week when we are going to make a box that matches these lovely cards.

Friday Freebie 024 ...

Hi Everybody,

Todays card is a beautiful shade of blue and has a lovely collection of flowers along the side that have the sparkle effect.

The flowers are from   Wild Orchid Crafts   and they are now doing smaller starter packs for those that like the flowers but don't need as many.

They are an excellent choice and a very reasonable price and the little dazzlers that sit on my bows are also in the same packs.

The fine glitter on the flowers is from  Glitter Magic   and it is something I love to do to my flowers.

The  background is Tied Together Die from  JGD Crafts   and it makes the most beautiful backdrop to your designs and is one that I use a lot of.

The little sentiment is for a Happy Birthday and is one  of a set of eight from   Lili of the Valley

The ribbon is from   Mei Flower   and is the soft gingham that looks so fresh ... and don't forget that all these colored words are links to the websites for you to see the products and buy them if you wish

Now if you would like to own this card then all you need to do is leave me a comment at the bottom of the post and if your name is pulled out of the hat by my "Film Crew" then the card will be on its way to you.

Pop back tomorrow to see if it is YOU and then you will have 48 hours to claim it.   Good Luck

Butterflies ...

Hi Everybody,

This card is created in a a beautiful shade of pink from the Adorable Scorable range by Hunkydory.   The link will take you to their selection of colors

This one is Candy Floss and it really is a delicate shade ... just perfect for all your girly cards.

The top layer is from the Sue Wilson French Collection and this is the background die from JGD Crafts   I love this die as it is so delicate.

Once I have cut the card I sprayed it with adhesive and then sprinkled it all with glitter from Glitter Magic and the effect is gorgeous.

I wrapped organza ribbon from Mei Flower around the layers  and topped it with a Chocolate Box Bow  The little dazzler in the centre of the bow is from Wild Orchid Crafts

The sentiment is  one from the stamp sheet by Sheena Douglass  and they are available from   Crafters Companion     I really like this card and it so much better in real life

Dreamer ...

Hi Everybody,

The sentiment on this beautiful card is from the stamp range by  Sheena Douglass and there are many quite large sentiments on the sheet ... and some gorgeous butterflies too

This was a card I was asked to make and it comes complete with matching box.

The die I have used is the Tied Together and it is from JGD Crafts  It matches the Tied Together embossing folder also from the same craft shop

It is such a lovely design and will enhance any of your cards and I use it to create the aperture in the box lid. Always a really good way to showcase the card inside.

The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts  and sparkled up with fine glitter from Glitter Magic

The buckle for the bow is also from WOC and I have added it to satin ribbon from Mei Flower

The diamanté around the edge of the card and the ow is from Want2Scrap  and adds a really elegant touch for such a special card and the addition of organza butterflies to both card and box makes it even better.

Grand Decorative Ovals

Hi Everybody,

I have had a couple of emails this week asking me about the Grand Decorative Ovals and so what better time to show you a card made using those very items.

This is another example of making the most of your dies and using them in ways other than their intended purpose.

This is in video format so that you can see how I made the card and on the page on the website you will find links to two other ways to use Grand Decorative Ovals     giving you even more scope with these large dies.

Here is the tutorial for you and I hope you enjoy it and for the others just click the link above (the pink words)  ...

The pearl flourish is from Want2Scrap  for a really luxurious touch to the card.   The flowers I have used on all three cards are from Wild Orchid Crafts

The butterfly on this card is made by me and I have tutorial on how I made them ... Making Butterflies   from flower petals.

Using the Corners ...

Hi Everybody,

I have not had time yet to play with the craft show goodies from yesterday but I will make something with them later today.

This is a card I made  a while ago and can't remember if I ever posted it.

So if I have then my apologies ... and if I haven't then here is the card.

It is just a long thin card 21 x 14 cms  with the fold at the top.

I have layered it up with pink and black on the white base.   There are two dies in this Filigree Corners pack and  I cut several of the largest corner in white.

They have been layered onto an embossed panel and I have dotted some small pearls on the points

The Labels Eighteen has been cut around the sentiment,  which is from   Lili of the Valley   and it has matching "Bling" from   Want2Scrap

The flowers are from   Wild Orchid Crafts   and if you only want a small amount of flowers then don't forget the   Starter Packs   which are a real bargain.

So this is just a couple of ideas on how to use up those corner dies with a little difference

And the card on the left  is to add them as a pocket for you to add a little tag into

Tuck them  into the pocket as a good place  for you or any one who buys your cards to add any personal sentiment or signature
