Hi Everybody,

When I offered the Blending Tools as a "Give Away" I was overwhelmed by the response.
And so pleased that many of you wanted to buy them if you didn't win the Freebies.

Blenders For Sale
It was because of this encouragement from you that my "Film Crew" took off one hat and donned another as   "Chief  Blending Tool Maker"

He has been very busy making some for you.

He has been researching materials to give you the best price we can... and a design that is comfortable to use.

And I have been researching  how to open a shop.

Today is the day that I am asking you all to keep your fingers crossed because today is the day that I have launched

There are five blenders in each pack and they come complete with Foam and Felt pads for the different applications you may want to do.... and they are very well priced at £12.50 for a pack.

So I hope you will click the   " My Shop"   link and  pop over to take a look.  Cross your fingers and toes and hope that this new adventure is a good one.

This is where you will find  the "Give Away"   .... but please join the band of followers,  leave me a comment and no duplicates please as they will be removed.

Two Winners ...

Hi Everybody,

Today the names for the Blenders has been drawn randomly by InLinkz and as promised we have two lucky people to win this super useful tool.

I hope both winners will enjoy using them and that they will let us know how they get on with them.

Both ladies have been notified by email of their win.

And you both need to send me your snail mail address so that I can get your prizes in the post.

Email me:- christina@card-making-magic.com

So who I hear you asking has won ????

Congratulations ....The winners are ....

Carol Parker  and  Marion  Hinchcliffe

You will receive five Blenders complete with Foam Pads for Water Based Inks and Five Felt Pads for use with Alcohol Inks

More to Come ...

This week has seen us working really hard on producing more of these Blenders to sell.

Please remember that we are not some mass producing company out to make a huge profit .... No it's just my "Film Crew" and I working in a drafty garage trying to give you the best tools we can for the the best price.

They are all hand cut and sanded by  Griff and the handles are screwed on so as to give you good service...  The last thing you want is for one of these to fall off as you are working with them.   So they are very well made.

And then the rest of the production is down to me and I finish them off ... add the foam ... and pack them up. And we have quite a few packs ready to go very soon.

So to keep the cost really good Griff has modified the handle on them.   They have been trialed and they are very easy to use.

You will still get five in a pack ... complete with a foam pad on each one to use with Water Based Inks.

I am also including five felt pads so that you can interchange them as you need and use them with Alcohol Inks.

As soon as they are available I will give you the link to the shop page .... and keep my fingers crossed that you will buy.

Using Acetate...

graphic 8596180
Hi Everybody,

No Jewel Box today because all I am  going to do is give it another coat of white Acrylic paint and leave it to dry ... so more tomorrow.

Here is a card with a bevelled front made out of Acetate and it comes complete with a video tutorial too.

The Acetate I have used for this is from Crafters Companion

The Decorated Hatpin is another tutorial

The Hatpins I have used are 3" long and come complete with end protectors and they are from the Sparkles Group

They can be found in Specialist Findings and  if you add in the code   CGDIS5   at the checkout you will get an automatic discount on your purchases.

The video is the  Acetate Front Card  and it will give you a very pretty card at the end. You will need to make a box to send it in because of the bevel in the Acetate ... but it is well worth it.

Blender tools

Because of the popularity of these little Blenders I have decided to give away TWO packs of them.  The draw will be completed tomorrow and so you now have two chances to win a pack of five Blenders.

If you still haven't added your name to the list then here is the link again ....Blender Give Away

Blender Give Away ...

Hi Everybody,

Click for a better look...
Well here it is the
Give Away
you have been waiting for.... the one with Blending Tool

So here's what you will get if you win...

There are five blending blocks in the pack and each comes with a foam pad.

The Foam Pad  is the one to use to blend all your water based ink  ...  for an aged look around the edges of your card and papers.

Because they are removable for you to clean or replace I am also including five felt pads.

There is a short video that you may like to see if you are new to them ... How to use a Blending Tool.

The Felt Pads  are the ones to attach if you are wanting to use Alcohol Inks.

I write the names of the inks to the knobs.

Then I always know which one goes with which ink and I store them in  a basket.

But  my "Film Crew" is working  on some kind of holder for  storage ... so watch  this  space.

We are also working on selling these soon.

So if you would like to win a set of these handmade Blenders then add your name to the list.

As always  no duplicate entries please  and if you see a red cross at the side of your name .... don't worry ... it just means that YOU can delete it if you wish.... especially if your name is there more than once.

If you don't have Blog it is not a problem .... just leave the URL box BLANK ... but add your name and your email so that you can be notified if you win.

Please leave me a comment and if you would add your name to the growing band of followers that would be lovely

Good Luck ....

January 09, 2013

I need your feedback please ....

My "Film Crew" has been very busy woodworking in the garage , and I told you that he has some surprises up his sleeve.

And  I think I have told you that he is a builder ... well he is soon to be a retired builder and ... rather than let him stagnate in a chair ... he is going to be doing projects for the website and this blog.

His talent is woodwork  and one of the things he did for me years ago was make me some Blending tools.

I like to use Distress Inks on my cards and to buy one of these blenders in my local craft shop was £4.99.

These are a very useful item for your crafting stash and the pads on the bottom are removable so that they can be cleaned or replaced.

Now I use a different blender for each ink and that would have cost me a fortune.

So I thought that for the next "Give Away"   I would put five together in a pack and send them out.

But what I need to know is ..... would you be interested in winning them ... or am I wasting my time???

Blending Tools

Many of us like to apply Distress Inks to our projects and they can create a very pretty and subtle effect.

But it is something that many of us are afraid to do because we can't get it right and the result is a smudged mess on our cards.

One of the best ways to apply these inks is with some kind of  Blending Tool  but these can be quite expensive .... especially if like me you are greedy and want one blender for each ink pad .... Yep that's me!

So this is what I did to make my own and the link will take you to the page to show you how to make your own   Blending Tool

You will find all the step by step instructions and then you can have as many as you like.

All I did then was by the foam pads and attach them to the velcro and these can be removed and washed or replaced whenever the need is there.

I store all mine in a large plastic box so that they are always on hand and I have one for every colour ink I use.

And any that I don't use for Inks I utilise by gluing small sentiment stamps to them and store them in the same way.

They are then ready to use whenever I need one quickly.

Write the sentiment on the handle so that you can see instantly what  it is.

They are so cheap and easy to make and the more you have the more you can use.

It doesn't cost a lot to get them cut and drilled ... or maybe you know some kind person with a saw and a drill that will do them for you.... even cheaper then!

Hope you enjoy making and using your blending tools and get the results that you want.

This card has had the edges of the  sentiment inked with Aged Mahohany while still in the die.

The embossed background has also been lightly inked using these handy little blenders.

Happy Crafting ....
