This is a card that I am not too sure about as I really am not partial to yellow.
For this I have created a background from stamps and embossed it.
It has then been matted and layered it onto plain yellow card. The next white layer has also been embossed and again matted to yellow.
The stain ribbon has been wrapped around the middle before adding the whole lot to the white base card.
I have cut two of the Gilded Gate and laid them on their sides to make the filigree background to the sentiment.
The centre panel and the two corner pieces has been cut from the Lattice Accents and Motifs and then layered with Scalloped Ovals and the Floral Ovals and I have used foam pads to give them some height.
The sentiment is from a set that I bought at the GNPE and there is no brand name to it so I can't tell you who made it. I have stamped it in yellow and then em,bossed it with clear powder.
The Diamante "Bling" is from Want2Scrap and completes the look of a card I don't think I like very much now that it is done.
Hugs xx
I really like it! It's lacey and frilly enough to still be a pretty, feminine card. In fact the yellow stands out like gold!
ReplyDeleteIt is gorgeous Christina. I find it very difficult to work with bright colours and patterns.I find them very challenging. I prefere pinks and lilacs and soft colours.xxPhyllis
ReplyDeleteChristina the card itself is beautiful. I'm not sure what shade of yellow it is, on my computer it looks like a mustard yellow. I am by no means an expert but I thought it was missing a shot of another colour. The colour would depend on what kind of yellow that is. If it is more like a banana yellow, perhaps a shot of turquoise. If it's a mustard yellow, perhaps a shot of brown? I think the card is pretty but wouldn't look quite as stark with another colour added. That's just my 2 cents.
ReplyDeleteI am quite partial to yellow, this card is stunning, you layed it out beautifully!!! I also have lots of yellow on my card today!!! hugs
ReplyDeleteLooks OK to me Christina. xxx
ReplyDeleteI don't use yellow much either but now that spring is nearly here a lovely yellow is perfect for cards. I wouldn't mind seeing more of it up above too! The detail in your design is gorgeous. Pat x

ReplyDeleteThe bling sets it all off Beautifully
Hi Christina
ReplyDeleteI'm not a yellow person either really but i do like this card, it's very fresh and spring like (a bit like the weather (not) lol). i think sometimes we're our own worst enemy and too critical of our own work. sometimes i struggle with a card but when i give it to the recipient they really like it and that's what we're trying to achieve we should be happy. keep up the good work. I love yellow cards and yours is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely. Very spring looking x
ReplyDeleteNeed a sunshiny card on a grey snowy day like this...I like it!!
ReplyDeleteThe yellow looks gold on my monitor too. I think the detail looks very pretty but do agree with Marianne that perhaps another colour other than white? I rarely use coloured cardstock as it petrifies me!! As does patterned paper - yet I have lots of both and must be more adventurous! I do envy crafters that can put coloured card or patterned paper together and form a cohesive whole :)

I'm not a yellow person either but I do like this :)
ReplyDeleteChristina I love viewing your creations but it is so hard for me at times when I lack the means to follow through on the inspiration you give. Thanks for sharing though, I get such a fix by just looking.
ReplyDeleteBlessings ... Von
I love your card and think its perfect as it is.... monochromatic colours always look spectacular and you do it well.....
ReplyDeleteCan't say I'm a big fan of yellow either Christina, and seeing it on a computer screen doesn't help but must say it's not to my (personal) taste however one thing that stands out, as always, is the craftsmanship there's certainly no disputing that!!
