Beautiful Card Designs Made Easy

January 09, 2013

I need your feedback please ....

My "Film Crew" has been very busy woodworking in the garage , and I told you that he has some surprises up his sleeve.

And  I think I have told you that he is a builder ... well he is soon to be a retired builder and ... rather than let him stagnate in a chair ... he is going to be doing projects for the website and this blog.

His talent is woodwork  and one of the things he did for me years ago was make me some Blending tools.

I like to use Distress Inks on my cards and to buy one of these blenders in my local craft shop was £4.99.

These are a very useful item for your crafting stash and the pads on the bottom are removable so that they can be cleaned or replaced.

Now I use a different blender for each ink and that would have cost me a fortune.

So I thought that for the next "Give Away"   I would put five together in a pack and send them out.

But what I need to know is ..... would you be interested in winning them ... or am I wasting my time???

Hugs xx

  11. Definitely yes, Christina! I'd love to win those. My husband's a computer programmer... I'd be lucky if he can glue 2 things together without hurting himself! Custom-made blending tools ... o what a dream!

  15. I think it is a great idea and what a useful and potentially money making hobby for your "film crew" in his retirement. My husband has no hobbies at all and has been retired 5 years!! So PLEASE go ahead as I would love to be in with a chance to win them.

  16. Hi Christina,
What a lovely thought.....I recall seeing just recently on a blog somewhere a tip re the blending tool and the DI pads. The idea is you put a small amount of snail adhesive on the top of the DI pad and to that you can place one of the foam pads. This reasoning means you only need ONE blending tool - this works well for me so I won't be in the running to win one of your packs - made beautifully btw by your film crew but many will I'm sure so good luck to them all.
    Cheers,
    Elaine

  18. You certainly wouldn't be wasting your time, Christina. They're very expensive over here in Oz, so I only have two.

I've given your instructions to hubby and tried in vain to get him to make some for me. This is the next best thing! LOL

  19. I think they are a wonderful idea - the "film crew" could start a little business in his retirement.

  20. A unique Hand crafted blending tool by THE GRIFF!!!! Why yes of course!!!!! I remember reading this post on your site and I had even contemplated making my own but I thought it would be best left to a real builder, even thinking about making one was too much for me lol Love this idea!

  22. Everything that can help a crafter is more than welcomed and appreciated as a gift, it would be a gift that keeps on giving ;) What a wonderful idea.

  23. They are so expensive here in Canada too - I certainly couldn't but one for every colour! Your hubby is very talented and could start his own little side business! Fabulous and they look wonderful. TFS

  24. Ummm no... you are so not wasteing your time, I would be willing to buy some!!! If you decide to sell them please let us know the price, I love them, you can paint them whatever color you choose, I like that feature!!

  26. I got my hubby to make me some but he's no diy-er and so they're no where near as good as these, they don't have handles and the pads are not removable. but i know what you mean 4.99 each is a lot to pay for one distressing tool so i personally would love to win a set and you should definitely market them!!!

  27. For me; nothing is a waste of time when it's homemade.
I often thought about making some of these myself but just never gotten around to it; so Yes,yes, yes please, I would dearly love to have the chance of winning some of these.
Thank You for this great opportunity.

  29. I remember when you mentioned these a very long time ago and I thought then, how great it would be to have one for each colour. You are right though, $$$, always stands in the way, and there are other things we need more. I really think he should consider a retirement project!!! I know that I certainly think they are a great idea...such talent that man has!

  34. HI Christina,

It's a great idea and I would certainly love to win the pack as it would be really useful to have more than one handle and keep swapping the foam pads all the time. This sounds like the start of a new money making business for your hubby when he retires :-)

Thanks for all the ideas and videos that you share.

  37. Dear Christina, these blending tools are great, look like bought. Your man has talent. Please tell him greetings. He really does a great job, as you too! In the store, they are really expensive, so I think it's more than generous, that you want to give away! It´s a fantastic idea! I use a sponge for blending and it is only a temporary solution because I have to save money. It's so nice that you always think of us! Hughs Sabine

  41. I would be so interested in winning them. As comment above, I too think he has done a great job on them. At the moment I'm using the blending pads on a homemade tool....it's a small cardboard box that I stenghtened with layers of papermache, and glued velcro to one side....as you can imagine, your hubbys handiwork would be quite a big step up for me lol. 45. I never win anything but really would like to be the lucky one. Sorry followers, but we all do want to be the winner. Anyway good luck to all. Christina these stampers are great and please keep coming out with more. Love, love them. I find them very cool and with a nice wood cabinet to go along with them would be fantastic. Suggestion- something like a wooden spice rack with glass or acrylic door, yes, sell as a set with the cabinet and or separately. No you are not wasting your time for me, you are a great inspiration for me and the best. Keep up with your creations that I am here to appreciate all that you do and keep sharing with all of us crafters. I will pin this in my Stamping & How to board to spread the word.

Again, followers best of luck. Christina this would be a best seller for sure. Don't leave the cabinet out. When I start to buy them I would like to have a place to hold them in and show off.

    Thank you Christina,
    Miriam

  64. Oh Christina,I would absolutely love to win even one of these!!Here in NZ the Tim Holtz blending tools are much more expensive (I don't have any) I also have very arthritic hands and the size of those handles look perfect to hold and use-what a clever hubby you have:-)

  69. I think anyone would be really lucky (& extremely pleased) to win a set of the blending tools. They look great! The branded ones are such an an extortionate price. Perhaps the "film crew" should consider taking orders for them - it would definitely stop any boredom from creeping in for him in the times that he isn't helping you.

  70. I am a beginning crafter and winning a set of these blending tools would add to the limited supply of tools that I have. I have so many ideas flowing through my mind but I lack the knowledge to put them to use right now. I enjoy reading you email everyday. Thank you for all the things you show. Jane O
