Beautiful Card Designs Made Easy

An Extra Post ...

Hi Everybody,

I have been waiting for the delivery of this die set for almost three weeks and yesterday it arrived.

It has cost me an arm and a leg ...and I had to pay the extra  Customs Charge on top ... but oh! my it is so worth it.

It is one of the prettiest dies I have seen and I am so pleased that I got it.

I had to wait as it was out of stock for ages ... but here it is... and I just had to show it to you all
This is the   Quatrefoil   from Our Daily Bread and it is made by Spellbinders.   (Click the link to go to the page)

It gives you the most beautiful background and the card I have made is in cream and white.

I have also used the Design Die on the right hand side of the card and added in my sentiment to a plain circle.

The card base is Grand Squares and  I have layered up the panels with foam sheets..

The flourish is from Want2Scrap and the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts

I shall be playing with this die for quite some time and I know you are going to love it as much as I do....

But can I just warn you please ... that if you buy stuff from the USA you may be have to pay  an extra Customs charge before you can get your parcel.

This is nothing to do with the company that you make your purchase from ... nor is it my fault  for not telling you.  I have mentioned it in posts before ... and I have to pay it on occasions too.

It is our government that imposes this charge and it is based on the cost of the items that you have bought .... and the Post Office have to add their bit on as well for the privilege of telling you that you can't have your parcel until you have  paid it.

It makes me very angry ... and you could try to claim it back ... but I think you would be fighting a losing battle.  But it is not the fault of the company where you buy your goods and they probably know nothing about it.

I won some "free goodies" from US a while ago  but it cost me almost £50 to get them from the PO because of this charge and I was not a happy bunny I can tell you.    You have been warned....

More tomorrow ...

Cream and White ...

HI Everybody,

No more Christmas Cards for a while ...lets enjoy some summer.

Here is a card that has been made for someone moving to a new house.

I have used an assortment of dies  and  a lovely smooth white 300gsm card from Anna Marie Designs

I usually buy lots of this card and the Kraft Card at the craft shows that I go to and it is well worth saving up all your pennies to get some bargains.

The next big one I will be going to is the GNPE in Harrogate so if you are going please let me know. We will be staying for the weekend.... and I would love to meet up with you in the evening.

Still back to the card ... the sentiment is from  Lili of the Valley  and it has been stamped in Versmark and heat embossed.

The ribbon is from MeiFlower ... and is worth noting that all these links will be at the Craft Shows too.

More tomorrow...

Arched Window...

Hi Everybody,

Here is a very traditional Christmas Card and the Poinsettias are from  Tattered Lace  .... all sparkled up with Glamour Dust.

The Spellbinders is a new die that I bought this week and it is called Arched Window.

The background has been embossed with the Reverence M-Bossabilities folder and the window added on top with foam pads.

The flowers are created from the same red card as the layer and it is from Core'dinations

The inside of the card has been embossed and decorated to match and the finished size is 5 x 7"

I really do like this card and it is prettier in real life than the photo shows.

But just to show the versatility of this die I have created another card that is just for fun.

It is not for any reason in particular but it uses the same Arch window as the other.

The window itself has been created from Acetate and Spectrum Noir refills and added to brick embossed background.

The little bicycle on this card is from Memory Box
and I bought this at the craft show in March.

I think a move away from Christmas cards is called for tomorrow .... don't you ??

White Christmas ...

Hi Everybody,

Todays card is another that will be put aside until the jolly season  ...  and this is another tone on tone.

The dies are once again from  Tattered Lace   ... and if you haven't  yet popped over there to see the dies on offer then you are missing a treat.

This is very simply made with the Grand Labels ... and you will need a die cutter with the larger A4 opening to use this die.

The lacy border has been cut twice and layered up with foam pads to give a 3-D effect to the border.

The greeting has been cut from the Christmas Sentiment from Tattered Lace, cut from silver card and added with a glue pen.

The ribbon is from Mei Flower and has a silver thread running through each edge and I have added bows to the top of each of the Baubles.

Each of the layers has been embossed with the A4 embossing folders .... Dottie and Perfect Paisley ... from Crafters Companion ... altogether a pretty card

Thank you to everyone who emailed me to tell me about the problem with the Blog page.  It is now solved and it was because I have used up the space with Photobucket and have now got more ... so panic over and everything is back to normal

 More tomorrow...

Hugs xx

Let It Snow !

Hi Everybody,

Here is another card made with the  Tattered Lace  dies and this one uses the beautiful Poinsettia from the Christmas Florals  and the Christmas sentiments.

I so love the Poinsettia that this die makes as it is so delicate  and this one has been cut from Silver card.

I shaped the petals and layered them up then added in  pearls to the centre and placed  them on to the card in different levels and tucked the leaves into the spaces.

The ribbon is a soft satin from Reasonable Ribbon

I even added in some snow with Flower Soft.

The sentiment is individual words that I have run over the back with a Glue pen and then added where I wanted them.

The cards is created to the Hinged Style with the 5 x 7  matting basics.

So this is another one to add to those ready to send at Christmas ... only another ??? to go then ....

More tomorrow
