Beautiful Card Designs Made Easy

Pretty in Green

Hi Everybody,

Now this is a color I don't use very often but I was asked the other day to give some ideas for cards  using green

The card I have used here is from the Celebrations Range with Spellbinders and this shade is called Pixie Play

There are lots of items in this range from the card to embossing folders,  stamps and dies that match them

The floral paper underneath was very bright and so I have subdued it with Parchment and added it with eyelets in each corner.

I used an embossing folder on the parchment before adding it to the card

The diamante around the edge  and the flourish are from Want2Scrap

The white and green flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts  and they have been sparkled with Glitter Magic  Chameleon glitter.  The little white dove is also from WOC

The ribbon was in my "Stash" and the dazzler over the knot is part of a Primark bracelet that I took apart.  I am happy with the result and as the card I used is 12 x 12 I have managed to get two cards from the one sheet

This sentiment was free with   Simply Cards and Papercrafts   and it is one of the most useful phrases in my collection and it is one I have used often since I got it.  I love the script it's in too

More tomorrow ...

Hugs xx

  10. Hi Christina
This card is gorgeous although I'm not a lover of green on a card. Mind you you can do any card in green, or in any colour you like.

  15. Good Sunday Morning to you Christina :) This morning's card is absolutely beautiful, cheerful; and with the dove, I have to say has a feeling of Easter or spring. Just lovely! Embossing the parchment paper was brilliant! I'll have to try that. I'm thinking you can make a card any color with your "Christina touch". You have that artistic knack for pulling it all together just perfectly. Thank you soooooo much for sharing this piece of beauty today. Enjoy a wonderful day.

  19. Hi Christina,
This is quite a different card from you today and I love it! You don't see too many cards made with green cardstock and this one is really pretty. I loved the idea of using parchment to tone down the brightness of the floral paper...a good tip to remember. x

  23. I love the green card..it's so springlike. It's also very pretty. I never think to tone down bright paper with parchment..I just don't use it, so now I have a lot of paper that I can use. Thanks for reminding me of that tip, Christina, and thanks for sharing your beautiful green card.

  25. I happen to love this green and how the parchment paper was used. Brightened my day. Stayed home from church with an annoying virus that seems to be inviting itself on many of my friends. :)
I need to make a card for a doctor's office as a "thank you" to the surgeon and stafff. Ummm --going to look my "stash" over for some of this green. Loving the dove and embellishments and ribbon. ~blessings

  27. Aah Christina, Lovely, this card reminds me of the Lush fabric of beautiful ball gowns. Silky green and opulent.with the corsage of flowers on the ladies wrists. Your cards can always remind me of sunny days, and wonderful evenings, with the colours ribbons and
sparkly's. Yes I do have a vivid imagination remembering past times. Thank you for awakening memories.xxx

  29. I'm not a green color person but this card is awesome...
It makes me think of spring flowers
    Well done Christina

  30. Thank you for that, Christina. I think you have used this, for me, difficult colour in a way that doesn't actually feature it as the main focus, and it draws the eye away from it by using the floral paper on top. Very pretty. xx
