Friday Freebie 100

Hi Everybody,

So now that the New Year has settled in a little we can go back to our Friday Freebies and start the year off with Card 100

This is a card that I coloured quite some time ago.

It has been done with Spectrum Noir Pens with the addition of some flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.

It would be suitable for a childs birthday and you can add your own sentiment to it if you wanted to.

If this is a card that you would like to have then all you need to do is leave me a comment at the bottom of this post.

From those comments one name will be drawn and the winner notified by blog post in the morning.

Please come back to check if it is your name and you will only have 48 hours in which to claim it ... and PLEASE do not leave your personal details in a comment or one Facebook

You will need to email me christina@card-making-magic.com with your postal address so that I can send the card to you.

Blue friend ...

Hi Everybody,

Todays card is elegant and perfect to let friends know that they are special.

The blue card is from Papermill Direct and makes a really pretty effect when covered with the embossed parchment I have used

The parchment has been embossed with the Butterfly Folder  and added to the blue card so that the foam tape sits beneath the added oval.

For the oval I have used the Spellbinders Victorian Bow  and I have cut this in antique silver card that I bought from the craft shows

The verse is from a set by JustRite Stampers  and it fits beautifully inside the frame that matches Labels 29

The ribbon is Organza  from Mei Flower and tied in a double bow with a pale blue pearly centre over the knot

The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts  and put together to compliment the card.  The centre of each flower has a tiny Glitter ball also from WOC

They have added sparkle from Glitter Magic  and into the display I have added blue Hat Pin that can be removed as a gift for the recipient of your card.

Wedding Card

Hi Everybody,

Todays card is using a die from "Craft Stash" and I have kept the theme to white.

The large heart has been cut from white card several times and layered to the base card to form a pattern layer.

I cut the die again several times and layered them together for depth.

I triple heat embossed the top layer of the heart shape in silver powder to give it a metallic look  that is very pretty and added it towards the bottom of the card

The sentiment has been stamped onto parchment and heat embossed in silver too and then I ran a silver pen along each edge of the parchment

The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and I have curved them around the top of the card.

The sparkle is added with Glitter Magic  and small Diamanté from Want2Scrap dotted around the petals.

Tuesday Tutorial - Bracket Borders One

Hi Everybody,

Todays pretty card is once again using an older die that some of you may already have in your crafting "Stash"  I know that many of you have said that you really appreciate tutorials with older Spellbinders dies as we sometimes forget that we have them stuffed away in a cupboard.

Well it's time to get them out again and put them back to work making you some lovely cards. After all dies from any company are a considered purchase and we want to get as much out of them as we can ... Right ?? Right !!
 Spellbinders Supplies:

With  die #7 Matting Basics A cut two panels in white to  Create a hinged card
With  die #7 Matting Basics B Cut one layer in pink
With die #6 Matting Basics A cut another panel in white
(Please remember that #1 is always the smallest die)
With the smaller white panel choose one of the cutting edges and one patterns from the Border dies.
Add them to your card with the cutting edge facing down and tape in place to prevent them crossing over each other.
I placed mine about two thirds of the way down the card. This will give you two pieces once the die is removed
There is no need to emboss with the die as you are going to place these into a lattice folder and dry emboss them
Once embossed lay them onto your pink layer and decide on the sentiment. Stamp and heat emboss this in white leaving enough of a gap in between the two fancy edge to be able to read it
Trim down these two panels so that a small border of the pink card shows around the edge
Add foam tape to the back  of both pieces and wrap the top and bottom panels with some ribbon.
Secure the ribbon at the back and then add both panels to the pink layer and then add all to the base card
From the ribbon make some small bows to be added to the top and bottom.
Arrange the flowers as you would like them to cross the channel you have created and then finally add a small pearl or gemstone to each of the cross sections in the lattice pattern
Add larger pearls to the knot in the bow

The particular die that I have used is now retired from Spellbinders website but if you don't have one and like the look then you could always go for the  Scalloped Borders Three  which has a very similar shape
