This card has been created using Gilding flakes for the birdcage and once again it looks much better in real life.
I like using this colour for my cards as it is one of my favorites... and of course pink is the best.
The backing paper is some that I have designed myself.
I have used a glue pen and some Glamour Dust to pick out the large Flourish along the left hand side and wrapped the ribbon around before adding it all to the main base card.
The panels have been layered onto turquoise card.
I have used the middle size die from Spellbinders Grand Decorative Ovals and cut a turquoise oval.
I added Gilding Flakes to a Scalloped Oval then added a white Classic Oval ... and on the top I have added the Birdcage.
I have used Gilding Flakes from IndigoBlu and they have some really stunning mixes of flakes.
This one is called "Gin and Tonic" and it is a lovely combination of silver and pale green, with a tiny hint of gold.
The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and I have added in the "A" frame to the back to display the card.
Hugs xx
Christina your card is gorgeous. Those gilding flakes are so pretty, and look magical on the elements you picked to highlight.
ReplyDeleteThis is something really special. Is the birdcage a stamp you've cut out, or a die? Another lovely idea.
ReplyDeleteChristina this card is gorgeous

This is so gorgeous Christina. Birds and birdcages are getting quite popular at the moment I think. The gilding flakes look lovely. Christine x
ReplyDeleteStunning Christina - I love gilding flakes, they look soooo opulent. I note that yesterday and today you have used a background paper that you have created - in future would it be possible for you to take a picture of it before adding all the embellies please? That way we can get to see it better. Pat x

ReplyDeleteI don't think I can add anything that hasn't already been said about this stunning card, so I will just "amen" all the previous comments. :) I'm a bird/birdcage-aholic so will definitely be trying this one! Blessings, Melinda
ReplyDeleteThis looks good Christina. xxxxxx
ReplyDeleteAnother stunning card Christina, is the birdcage a spellbinder die? Love the sentiment and wee flower, are they from the same stamp set and if so what is the name of it? I stand in awe and all the wonderful ideas you come up with, they are all so beautiful, keep up the good work. Lorraine T
ReplyDeleteGood evening Christina,
ReplyDeleteI really love this, I have that Bird Cage Die and I keep looking for a bird to go with it. Seeing your beautiful creation I realise I do not need a bird after all. Must get it out and use the Gilding Flakes, what a great effect.

Fabulous card! And now I just have to put gilding flakes on my shopping list - without even knowing how to use them lol
ReplyDeleteA very pretty card and love how you have used gilding flakes on the bird cage and the oval die cut.
