I am often asked for ideas to make cards for the men in our lives and being a frilly flowery kind of card maker I sometimes find it hard .... sorry guys !! But pink and flowers maybe wouldn't suit many of you
This card uses the Sheena Douglass stamp set called Destination and is excellent for many occasions.
I colored it with the Spectrum Noir Aqua Tints and you need very little to get a good result.
The sentiment stamp is one of the Altenew Sentiments and Quotes and I have stamped it onto some Kraft card and layered it on to blue
The background to this piece uses the Caught In Crystal Technique which has been around for a long time.
This is so effective and very easy to do that I had my Wednesday Class ladies try it.
I will show you my ladies cards once they are made up as you need to leave it to dry for a good few hours. I think a tutorial would be in order for this technique
I have layered the image on to blue card and then onto some Kraft card for a really lovely effect that should make any of the men in your life happy to receive.
More tomorrow ...
Hugs xx

Thats a good male card, I think we all much prefer to make pretty cards
ReplyDeletecheers Kaye
This is very different for you Christina. Love the background. I think the majority of us struggle with male cards so you are not alone. Frills and lace and flowers are so much easier! I'm sorry I haven't been commenting of late but I do check in every day. I just have so much going on right now that some things just have to go. Christine x
ReplyDeleteGood morning Christina, your Fathers Day card is really lovely, and as a you said your know for feminine and frilly however you can pull out a great male card on occasions like today. A tutorial would be great thank you, as the effects are amazing. X Ros

ReplyDeleteGreat background Christina (tutorial would be most welcome) and first class card. Like most of us I struggled with cards for men but went onto your card making magic link and discovered the shirt tutorial - since then I have been making a shirt for each male card!! xxx

ReplyDeleteGood Morning Christina :) What an AWESOME Masculine Card this morning to start out Father's Day!! Thank You sooooooo much for sharing!! Would absolutely love a video on how to make the background. Men's cards are always a challenge and a struggle for me. I seem to manage when I need a male card, but it's not without great difficulty, that's for sure. Well, I hope your Hubby gets spoiled today and the "kids" shower him with lots of love. Enjoy a Wonderful Day! Big Hugs.
ReplyDeleteGood Afternoon, Christina,
ReplyDeleteWhat a great 'male' card. I'm like a lot of other crafters who find it easier to make 'female' cards so it was so good to see this one. Love the background and am looking forward to seeing how your ladies did with theirs. Have you made a video on this effect yet? x
Good afternoon Christina
ReplyDeleteI really like your stamped card today. I must look at the Sheena Douglas stamps because I do like the ship image.
Regards
Joan

ReplyDeleteHello Christina,
ReplyDeleteI've just found your blog and really like this man's card. I do hope you gutted the background as it's such a waste to use all of this beauty behind the topper!!

ReplyDeleteI love this card. The clean lines and the water technique for the background are so handsome! I started to say beautiful, but that didn't have a "manly" sound to it. lol It's a really great card, Christina.
ReplyDeleteAn awesome 'man ' card. Why is it always so difficult to come up with something nice for them!

What a lovely project. Inspiration for men's cards are always welcome :)
ReplyDeleteStunning Christina, I especially love the background, the colours are superb! I don't own any aqua tints, so would the bottles of re-inkers do the same job? If you do bring out a tutorial, I for one, would be over the moon to see! Thanks for sharing this lovely card with us, you are right, it is perfect for men!
ReplyDeleteHugs,

Exquisite guy card. So cool that you didn't go all dark and grungy. I think men like to see bright colors too. I pinned of course. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/415386765608632977/
