Simply Cards & Papercraft 165 (SC&P 165)

Hi Everybody,

This magazine will be in selected supermarkets and craft stores today and the gift is really special with this months magazine

It the Little Bird Stamp and Outline Dies   and the video will show you how I created the card shown

Ar first glance the stamp set looks a little complicated but it is really easy to use.

The backing card shows you how all the little stamps will fit together.

You can create all different colours of birds and then dress the card up as much as you would like.

The blue bird card would make a great male birthday greeting

For this card I have used some beautiful flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and put one of my pink birds in the cage and the other on top

Perfect for a female birthday and the flowers make it extra special.

You can stamp first and then die cut or die cut and then stamp whichever you prefer.

And if you have a stamping tool then that will aslo help you to get perfect placement every time

Have a look on the shelves for this lovely free gift

Not shown in the video is the quality paper pack from Prima that also comes free with the magazine.

It has beautiful papers and sentiments for you to add to your cards and lots of inspiration inside the pages .

Grab a cuppa and relax for a little while while you browse SC&P 165

Apple Blossom Kit

Hi Everybody,

This is a new kit from Craft Stash and it features Apple Blossom.

It comes in kit form with a magazine and there are Dies, Stamps, an Embossing Folder and a Stencil and some lovely papers to help you complete the look

The style  is called the Bendi Card  and the video will show you how I created this with very little measuring.
I know there are several ways to get this shape but some of them can be a little confusing.

So I thought I would simplify the design to help those that are new to cardmaking

For the picket fence I used a small die that was a magazine freebie I showed you a few weeks ago

These gifts with a magazine subscription always come in useful for  future designs and are an excellent way to build up your "stash"

On some of the cards I used the papers from the paper pack and on others I used Distress Inks and blending sponges.

But they were all fun to make and didn't take that long with the simplified version.

Ruby Update

Hello Everyone,

I have some really exciting news to tell all of you today and my mum is so proud of me.
I have been going to doggy training and last Thursday I took my Bronze Test and I passed with no trouble at all.
Here I am with my certificate and my lovely Rosette and I am learning to be obedient for my mum.
I am going to do the Silver course in August and I will be sure to let you know how I do
I am nearly eleven months old now and I have changed quite a bit from when I was tiny. I now weigh 13.9kgs and I run around a lot. I still like barking though but I have to learn that I  don't need to bark at everything !!

This is me at nine weeks old and my coat is very creamy. On my back I had some black that took on the shape of a heart but as I grew that mingled in with the rest of my colours

But don't I look cute and you can see why my mum fell in love with me ... even if I do say so myself !

And in case you are wondering what I am my official Kennel Club registration is a
 English Show Cocker Spaniel

This is me at six months old and look how my hair has grown.

I still haven't grown into my ears yet and I don't suppose I ever will.

My mum says I am like Dumbo and should be able to fly with such big ears.

I hope you enjoyed my story today and my mum is so proud of both of us as she worked hard to train me too.

See you again soon ...

Bye for now  Ruby xx

Card Winner

Hi Everybody,

What a beautiful day it is here and for the weekend. Tomorrow we are going to Birmingham to see my daughter Graduate with a Masters Degree and I am so proud of her achievements. She has worked really hard and deserves all the good things that come her way.

Ruby and Dougal will be going to stay overnight with Aunty Sally and they will have a lovely time. Ruby will be back tomorrow as she has quite an achievement of her own to share with you all.

So the draw for yesterdays shabby chic card has been done and the name this week is you ...

Donna Okoniewski

please can you email me with your postal address to
christina@card-making-magic.com
and I will get the card in the post to you straight away.

I am always disappointed when some one does not come forward to claim a card as I know so many others would have loved that pretty Owl Card.  But it will be offered again once the other shabby chic cards have all been given away
