Thanks you for all your comments about the cards I add to my pages and it is so humbling to know that many of you like my style.
Some tell me that my card are OTT or that the bows are too big .... but most of you love them and take the time to let me know in comments, here or on Facebook or by email.
I had an email from a someone last week who was unsubscribing from the newsletter on my website because she said that my cards are too fussy for her and she wanted something less so.
And on the same day I had ten more telling me that my cards are just what they like and they too add lots of stuff to their cards.
Some people who are new to card making email and ask me questions and that is usually what becomes a video ... because many people .. including me ... like to learn visually.
And a picture paints a thousand words ... so they say !! On to todays card and the links I like to add for you
It is created in lilac Centura Pearl from Crafters Companion and there are lots of layers to this design.
The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and they have been sparkled by Glitter Magic The ribbon is from Mei Flower and has been plaited through two of the border strips form the Moroccan Accents
The pearls around the edge and those to match the sentiment tag are from Want2Scrap and the sentiment itself is from the Sentimentals Range from Crafters Companion.
The inside has the addition of the Filigree Corners to slip a little tag into for a signature or greeting
More tomorrow ...

Your cards are truely beautiful and don't let anyone tell you other wise...Ann
ReplyDeleteThis is absolutely gorgeous Christina. I love the sentiment. x
ReplyDeleteGood morning Christina, I for one LOVE your cards.
ReplyDeleteYes some days they might be more fussy than others but they are still beautiful.
They are YOUR cards showcasing YOUR style.
If people don't like what you do they don't need to come back to look. Why try to hurt people by being nasty.
I feel mine are too "flowery" but Hey! Ho! it is what I like doing. After all at the end of the day that's what makes US happy, doing what WE like to do.
Happy Crafting & Creating
Have a great day
Hugs

Christina, your cards are beautiful. You give us ideas on how you could make your card look like but by no means are you suggesting that we follow every detail. It's a guideline, if you will , and you don't have to put as much detail on your cards as you do. You are your own designer and you determine what goes on your card or not. You are an inspiration to me and I love your ideas, please keep those ideas coming. And I love your videos also. Keep smiling as you are doing a great job!!!! Thank you
ReplyDeleteAll your cards are inspirational just keep them coming.
ReplyDeleteGood morning Christina,
ReplyDeleteI am one of your subscribers that subscribe because your cards are amazing. I love to watch your videos for the very same reason as you make them, i understand the workings better, so thank you for making them. Todays card is another stunner that i would love to make,so if you don't mind i will try. I have started to do as you do by matching up the insides to the outside as it does make a difference. I always used to finish the insides off nicely but it definitely looks better matching, thank you to you and your wonderful film crew who makes sure that we can see the most important parts.
Love and crafty hugs
Norah

ReplyDeleteHi Christina. I cannot believe that some people would not like your cards. They are absolutely stunning, and I still think yours are the best video tutorials on the web for cardmaking. Thank you again to you (& your film crew!) for taking the time to make them. Blessings! Carol
ReplyDeleteHi Christina
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful card absolutely lovely I love it.
Well just don't worry about those adverse comments you can't please all of the people all of the time, please don't take any notice we love them and you, you are so very helpful too it will be their loss.
With love
Margaret
Hi Christina, as always another beautiful card. I love all your cards and also all the videos I've seen so far. You have a very easy to listen to voice and explain everything really well. I wondered if you had or indeed could do a video tutorial on making boxes and lids. This is something I really find hard so would be grateful for any help.
ReplyDeleteThank you

ReplyDeleteLet me say straight off that I am one of your daily blog followers. I'm sorry to hear that you have your critics BUT please please don't stop your posts. I find your work inspirational, like today's I have these dies but your combination is not one I had thought of, so I will be giving this a go.
Love and hugs
Linda
Morning Christina,
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid I'm one that does not too bag a bow, but that's my choice, everything else you do I love. Also you give such good tips. Anyway even if you don't like too much on a card it can always be adapted. So carry on doing what you love.

I think your cards are beautiful and judging by your quick sales of them on Etsy, many others do, as well. i truly enjoy the inspiration that you provide, and the videos are so helpful. I love to try to use my dies in different ways, and you show just how to do it. Thank you very much for the time you spend with us. BethAnn M.
ReplyDeleteI don't think you post your cards expecting everyone to follow the design exactly. It's easy enough to adapt a design to meet personal taste and seeing an idea can trigger something along similar lines. As they say "You can please some of the people some of the time...." etc. I love the background and the colour on today's card - very pretty for a special friend. Pat x
ReplyDeleteI posted this on FB but I thought I would share it here also.......I love your cards they always bring a bit of happiness to my day. Keep doing what you're doing and sharing. I've gotten so many ideas from your cards and have been so inspired by your videos. Never let someone tell you that something you've created from the heart is bad.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the inspiration that you provide Christina, you do not look for praise for the amount of work that you put into either the website, the blog, Etsy, The Art Studio or anything that you do. You do not get enough praise for what you do for everyone that comes and visits you on your site and gets what they do from you for absolutely nothing at all. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, however, as long as it is creative construction that is fine, but when it is not there is no need for it. You are a wonderful, creative person, who gives us so much of your time, grace and energy. I only wish that I had the same amount of time and energy that you have and that I had the same amount of dies that you had lol. I can't wait for the next class in the Art Studio for the Spellbinders, I am having withdrawal symptoms now. Looking forward to it, trying really hard to get the mojo back, trying to make some cards, although the ones that I am making are not too good at the moment, I think I need some new ideas or something. Or maybe just go back to the beginning again. Just you keep up the great work. Hugs, Jen xx

It is the beauty of crafting everyone can have their own style and each style is unique and beautiful in its own way. I think we should all be able to open our eyes, look outside of our own little worlds and see the beauty in other styles whether we are into that style or not. Why not enjoy the uniqueness of each other. How boring it would be if everyone had the exact same style. I love your style.
ReplyDeleteChristina you cant please everyone, but i look at it this way....you can buy plain unfussy cards in the shop SIMPLE AS, nothing special... yours are handmade and WONT find in the shops, if people want plain and unfussy then why are they subscribing?? you have your own style and ive only been following you a short while and its because i LOVE fussy and lots of others do to.
ReplyDeleteplease dont change your style, its what makes you, and they have the WOW factor!!

I have only recently found you Christina and I think your cards are so Stunning. Your help is invaluable and I love to see pretty cards. Hugs Rita xxx
ReplyDeleteHi Christina,
ReplyDeleteYou are an artist, and you create works of art. Like the impressionist of the 19th century, which met great opposition, you create from the heart, and that's what crafting is all about...the heart. It's heart that helps you create a unique card for a each recipient, and like works of art, will be kept. I know I don't keep boxed cards, but I do keep handmade ones...made with heart. Like the impressionist, your works of art will be enjoyed and loved by many. You inspire us all, and you help us believe we too can create, with your instructional videos. So just continue creating and producing those instructional videos with all your heart, I for one, will be very grateful.
Hello Christina. I love your work and always turn to your pages first for inspiration when mine is running low. You never fail to inspire me and I love your very informative videos. Lindsay
ReplyDeleteLove your card, Cristina, it's stunning as are all your cards. Keep it up

I would also like to add to my comment that I whole heartedly agree with the comments from the other ladies. You are your own person with your own style (which is wonderful) and as has been already said if people don't like they don't have to look. I for one am extremely grateful for all that you put on your website because it has helped me such a lot. Please don't ever give up.
ReplyDeleteLove and best wishes,

Hi Christina, just home from work and catching up with my daily visit to your blog. Well I have to agree with my fellow bloggers I just love your work. It's fine that people have differing views that's what makes us unique, what some people tend to forget is that what you are offering are IDEAS and INSPIRATION. Thank you for all you share and the time and effort that you give in helping other like minded people. By the way, love todays card.
ReplyDeleteHiya Christina, Love love love your blog, your cards are amazing. I settle down with a brew around 7pm. I don't tune into the soaps its straight onto Christinas blog to see what delightful eye candy I am going to be treated to. If a video is in the offing so much the better. Don't stop what you are doing, because for me and an awful lot of other people, well we just love it. Keep up the good work love and don't let the few sad ones get you down.
ReplyDeleteOMGosh!! Who could say such a thing about your beautiful creations. I have followed you for over a year now and have received so much inspirations from your stunning cards. I absolutely LOVE your style and have found myself trying out so many of you card styles with my own crafting. Never change, unless you want to
ReplyDeleteHello Christina, I'm one of your anonymous ,but loyal followers. I simply enjoy looking at your cards. I'm very appreciative of the time and effort that you dedicate to your blogs and your followers. Enjoy your tutorials enormously, your calm and soothing voice is a pleasure to listen to, with the added benefit of learning something every time. Even though my style (if I have one) is completely different from yours I liked one of your cards so much that I specially ordered the dies to make a similar one. Hobbies are just for that to make what pleases you and the learning process is never ending. Thank you for all your work and for the willingness to share it.
ReplyDeleteHave only jus t joined your blog but think your cards are beautiful. I will keep coming back every day to see what new card you have made. I think showing what dies you have used is very useful.
ReplyDeleteOh my I just love your style and when I am hand delivering my cards I usually add more stuff to my card, but my family lives out of state from me so it all has to be mailed and it would be too costly for me to add extra postage, so I tend to have to tone down most of my cards. Your layering is just so lovely and I like the idea of the corner die inside holding a little tag or something!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe that someone would check out a blog, decide it's not for her, and then leave a negative comment! If you visit a blog, and it's not what you like, just leave! If you have nothing good to say, then say nothing at all. Leaving a mean comment is just mean. You have a wonderful style, Christina. I love to see your work, and I have created cards modelled after yours. They are fresh, feminine and beautiful! Good for you, and please keep sharing.
ReplyDeleteOh Christina, reading your post upset me and I wish my message would not get lost but it will because you likely will be the only one to read it! I started this wonderful hobby about 2 or maybe 3 years ago when CC was on our shopping channel and I purchased their kit; since then I have used the internet as my resource and found many wonderful and talented teachers out there all of them with diverse style and talent. Why do people feel compelled to complain about or criticize the work of people that have put a huge amount of time, effort, love and compassion just to give us inspiration and tutorials free! I don't get it! Would you tell someone you didn't like their decorating style in their home, I don't think so! For the most part I have found most to be wonderfully warm and encouraging and perhaps some don't realize how hurtful their comments can be so PLEASE anyone other than Cristina reading this, honestly if she is not your style that is ok but she is an amazing teacher that you can take her tutorials and apply to your own work and if you don't think you can do that then please just quietly move on! And for what is worth I think her cards are wonderful and I would like to THANK YOU for all your wonderful inspiration and tutorials Christiana! Sorry but it needed to be said
ReplyDeleteHi Christina...I only found your blog quite recently but I love seeing what you create...I agree with everyone else...I love your videos - so easy to watch and lovely to listen to - and your "film-crew" does a great job!!! Your blog name says it all!!! From an Ex-Pat living in Australia...Alison
ReplyDeleteHi Christina, you continue your lovely work, there are many of us out there who appreciate what you do, your inspiration to us is wonderful, there may be those who do not like the cards, well let them unsubscribe, their loss. Keep up the good work, we do appreciate it and just love to see your new creations. I too love cards with all the bits and bobs on, it is a case of 'what suits you'.....Ursula xxxx
