On Monday I featured a card that used the Square dies from Craft Stash and this card is using the exact same dies.
I have used them in a different way that disguise the fact that it is a square die set.
Here we have the Scalloped Square Frames cut across the diagonal and added with foam pads into a diamond shape and added to the top and bottom of the 5x7 card base
The background panel has been dry embossed with European Tapestry from Spellbinders.
The Diamanté flourish is from Want2Scrap and I have added it either side of the sentiument.
The "Thank You" is part of a set of dies also from Spellbinders called Phrases Two which I have cut several times out of silver mirror card and craft foam to give it height
A pretty card with lots of texture to it and that makes it more interesting than flat, plain, empty spaces.
About Tutorials ...
The other day I gave you the link to the tutorial that was on Spellbinders Blog Post and it did not work ... my apologies ... here it is again
Making a little gift box with the Flourish Frame Pocket
Please remember that all the tutorials that I have done are clickable links for you to go to that page
They are also added to the appropriate sections titled Video Tutorials at the top of the page or Tuesday Tutorials in the right hand column and they will always be accessible for you to use. The list of tutorials is getting long and I hope you will revisit them for ideas if ever you get stuck
More tomorrow ...
Hugs xx.
I really appreciate that you are sharing projects with the same dies used in different ways. I have so many dies I used once and don't use again. I appreciate the new ideas and the challenge to think outside the box. This card is a lovely example. I also enjoyed your tutorial on Spellbinders. The box is beautiful!

Morning Christina, an ideal card for this time of year with all the thank you cards we have to do and so different from the square. I managed to see your tutorial the other day can't remember if I just went onto spellbinders but it wasn't fab. Tutorial.

Hi Christina love the card, thanks for reposting about the pretty basket I thought it was my tablet playing up again. I do love going through your tutorials again as often you like the idea of one design, but it needs the right recipient. I've just made again the card with the nightlights on the side I just love it, thanks Ann
ReplyDeleteHi Christina such a clever use of the die a really nice card, loving the colors with the deeper ribbon bow .

How lucky is that to be the first to comment on such a pretty card in one of my favourite colours. It is dull and wet here so after I take down and pack away the decorations I shall be crafting all day and just might do my version of this card.

A very pretty card, and a great way to use the square dies!
ReplyDeleteGood Morning, Christina...well, morning at least I can't believe it's just gone 11:00 and it's almost dark enough for me to have to turn the light on!! Anyway, I do love this card...a LOT! I keep telling myself that it's okay to chop up my die cuts to make something 'different' but I always seem to chicken out at the last moment. I think I need to look through the dies I have to see which ones I can alter to play with. I've saved up to get a new die storage unit so hopefully, as I put them away in their new home, I'll find some that I've been neglecting and see what I can do with them, after all...any mistakes and I've only lost a sheet of card haven't I lol.

Good Morning Christina :) Beautiful Card this morning! Very Clever use of the die. What can seem so obvious to one, it's an aha moment for others, as this was for me. Beautiful basket tutorial as well. Sooooooo, precious! Would make a sweet little Easter Basket from a wonderful Great Grandma. Thank you for sharing. Enjoy a fabulous day. Big Hugs.
ReplyDeleteIt is nice to see dies being used in ways they were probably not created for, and although I don't have this particular die, I shall try using one that I have in this way.
