Todays tutorial is a really quick and easy card to make and uses one matting basics and one Decorative labels to complete the look. The thing that makes the card look interesting is the layers, and the height to each of those layers gives depth to the card.
Spellbinders Supplies:
Other Supplies:
- Flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts
- Ribbon from Mei Flower
- Glitter from Glitter Magic
- Pink Polka Dot card from AnnaMarie Designs
- Diamante from Want2Scrap
- Foam tape 1mm depth
Instructions:
With #8 from Matting basics B cut two panels in white and create a hinged card
With #3 and #4 dies from Decorative Labels Eight cut one of each in white
(Die #1 is always the smallest)
Hand cut another layer for each of the fancy ones in the color of your choice
I have used pink Polka Dot card
Add foam tape to the back of each of these layers and wrap them with ribbon before adding them to the base card
I stamped my sentiment in silver onto some yellow parchment and added the glue so that it will be hidden by the ribbon
Adding in the foam tape raises each of the layers up and gives depth to the design, so if you haven't tried adding in foam tape/pads or sheets then give it a try and see what a vast difference it makes.
I buy mine from the £££ shop and get three rolls for my £1
I added in a mix of pink and yellow flowers and doted them with glue and sprinkled with glitter
More tomorrow ...
Hugs xx

ReplyDeleteHi, Christina,
ReplyDeleteWoo-Hoo...I've actually got both of these die sets so it looks like I'm going to be able to play along this week :). I've seen the rolls of foam tape in £Land but have only ever bought their double sided sticky tape before. The next time I'm in town I'm going to have to stock up with a few rolls. I sometimes wish we had a Poundworld in town as well as they do seem to have more craft type stuff in there but I'm content with what I can get. I do have a Hobbycraft just down the hill from where I live but apart from the walk back up being too much for my bad back...I hate the fact that they always seem to overcharge for a lot of their goods...e.g. they had a set of Sharpie markers for around £34 and Staples in town had the same thing for £12...guess where I got them from lol.
Happy Tuesday everyone.

Lovely card, will have to try how you made this card as I have those dies. I like putting foam between the lays but don't do it too much as it gets expensive to mail.Have a great day.

Gorgeous again! Love this die too and getting 'flower envy' now. Wondering if these foam tapes are acid-free as the more expensive ones are and does it really matter?
