I was watching a young woman named
Shayda Campbell on YouTube
the other day and she was doing some really pretty stuff with water colours.
And so I thought I would get mine out again and try to follow what she did, and this is the result..
I haven't done any water colouring for ages and I really enjoyed playing with them again.
I have a lot to learn but I liked Shayda's style of teaching and so I will be going back to her channel for more.
She finished some of her paintings with the fine black line around the edges and so I did that as well.
I used a black fine liner pen to etch in the shape and added a little shading underneath to ground the image.
They are not brilliant but I was happy with both once I had finished.
Practice makes perfect
Bye for now ...
Hugs xx
Morning - to someone who is worse than useless freehand they certainly are brilliant. Some people can and then there’s me !!!
ReplyDeleteWell done Christina. I like the watercolour effect. I am not very good at colouring.

Hello Christina watercolouring isn’t one of my strong points but, having seen your samples and looked at the Shayla Campbell link that you gave I’m going to give it a try. I particularly like your blue leaf/tree ~ it would make a super Christmas card.

these look great
ReplyDeleteI am familiar with Shayda’s work. She is a great teacher. I love watercolour and it does indeed take a lot of practice. You did really well with your paintings.

These are great! You should be happy!
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Christina and all that visit this morning. I too never got around to watercolour although I love to watch others doing it. I followed the link to this young lady's you tybe.
ReplyDeleteChannel and watched her colour her perfume bottle. It looked beautiful. And who would have thought to do this.
ReplyDeleteSo to your cards they too are lovely . I see you have the way to do this . And I look forward to seeing more of your designs.... But as for me ... I don't think it's somehing I would want to start with. And who said they are not perfect ... Please don't put yourself down . You might not think they are perfect. But they are beautiful in the eye of the beholder.
Sending hugs 🤗 and best wishes everyone who needs them today. Please stay safe and well 🙏. Kind regards Ann Toppcards in Leeds,
