Altenew Flowers

Hi Everybody,

All the flowers for these cards are created from the Hello Beautiful Craft Your Life Kit from Altenew that I have had for a long time.

The woodgrain panel is also from a really old Altenew Stamp and I thought it would be good to bring them out of retirement and put them to use again.

All the flowers have been coloured with the layered stencil in the kit and all mounted to the cards with foam pads to give them some height. 

And all are A6 sized cards with sentiments from my own stash.

This was yet another playtime session to use up items that are already on my desk and I was not disappointed with any of them.

There is no pint in me linking to any of the product as they are old and probably not renewed by the company involved.

So unless you already have them then the best thing to do is look at your own collections and use the nearest thing that you have.

Shopping your own stash is a real eye opener and can save you a ton of money in the process, and it is always a pleasant surprise when you come across something you may have forgotten about.

Items that you bought years ago, meaning to try, and then tucked in the drawer, and left. 

And then when they re-surface you can't remember how to use them

Who is guilty of that ??? 

I know I am but it is a habit I am overcoming and I haven't bought anything new for quite some time.

Creating with Altenew Flowers

Hi Everybody,

Todays card is created with flowers made from the Craft A Flower kit from Altenew. It is the Sulfer Cosmos flower and it is lovely.

I have cut my layers for the flowers in blue and then once they are assembled I gave gone over the petals with the Wink Of Stella pen.

The flowers have been added to a handmade inky background and an aperture cut into the card for effect. 

The finished card is a 5x7 with the fold at the top, and it is much prettier in the hand as the flowers sparkle when turned in the light.

This was a playtime session and for the yellow flowers I used the Layered Rose, again from Altenew, and this die was free with a magazine a long time ago.

These have also been added to a handmade background and the white net added to the top, but this card is only an A6 size.

I had fun making these flowers and the time spent was very relaxing.

Altenew Flowers

Hi Everybody,

This is a stamp set that I have used often in the past and it is the Whimsical Flowers  Stamp & Die set from Altenew.

I have had this a long time and I have teamed it with my on dies from the Rose Flourish die set.

I have also used the Simply Dots embossing folder for the background and the sentiment strip is from the Butterflies paper pack that was released  a little while ago.

So no matter what you have in your own stash it will all work well with something else, all you need to do is paly and experiment to see what you come up with.

And if you don't like the result then it is only card and paper and a little bit of ink. 

I no longer get the monthly kits from Altenew as the postage cost became far too high. But I have lots from the past that I can still use and make lovely cards with.

Playing with Altenew

 Hi Everybody,

These two cards are from one of the Craft Your Life Kits by Altenew. 

I used to get these kits on a monthly basis and they are lovely to work with, giving you the complete set of everything that you need.

There are dies, stamps, stencils and an embossing folder that all work together.

The only thing stopping me from continuing with my subscription was the cost of the postage as it was almost as much as the kit itself.

This set was the Water Coloured Flowers from December 2022.

I have coloured the flowers with inks and the layering stencils and used the dies to cut them out.

Then I have added them in a different orientation  with foam pads on each card. Both cards are 6x6.

I used the same background stencil, which is not from Altenew, and added the little die cut sentiment which is.

I added tiny white pearls to each card front but they don't show up very well on the photos

I am happy with both cards and I will make sure I get a lot of use from the kit.

I won't be getting them any more because of the postage so I will have to get my monies worth from the ones that I already have

Altenew Whimsical Flowers

Hi Everybody,

For todays cards I am using a stamp set from Altenew that I have had for years and it is the Whimsical Flowers

It has a matching die set that can be abought to use with it, and the three main flowers face in different directions.

There are also smaller flowers and leaves in the set and so I decided to get it out and play as I haven't used this in such a long time.

I stamped and coloured lots of flowers all in the same colourway and cut them out ready to add to my cards.

I made three altogether and here are two of them for you to see.

Both have been added to an embossed background and I have also used my own Rose Flourish die set for the extra leaves I used.

As for the embossing folders one is really old Spellbinders one and the other was free with a magazine again many years ago.

Both cards are A6 but one has a pink base and the other is white.

I quite like both of them and the flowers that I have left over will go onto another project in the future.

Playtime with Altenew

Hi Everybody,

Todays card is created with a really old stamp set from Altenew and I thought it was time to dig out some of my old stamps and

re-create with them. 

This one has been stamped in shade of Pink and Lilac and the same two colours splattered onto the background.

The flowers and leaves have been cut out with the coordinating die set and added with foam tape to raise them up.

I also used an old stencil, that was free with a magazine, on the background to give the diamond pattern that you can see.

The second card is using a die, stamp and a stencil from a magazine that Altenew brought out and I don't like the colours on this one as much.

I think that the blues I used are too dark.

I again used a free stencil for the background and in the set there are some leaves to another Altenew stencil which I also added to the background.

It is good to play and experiment with items and colours and that is the way I learn what I like and what I don't like.

Altenew Gift

Hi Everybody,

This pretty floral card is created using an Altenew stamp set that was sent to me as a free gift.

 I stamped the flowers randomly over the card and then coloured them with Alcohol markers. 

I used a very pale blue for the background just to take the whiteness out of the card.

But one of the stamps in the set was very personalised to me and I was delighted with it.

I used it to stamp the back of my cards and I will use this a lot in the future

So a big thank you to Altenew for my gift it is very much appreciated and will get used often.

Die Storage Holder

 Hi Everybody,

This is not a card but a large cardboard holder that I have covered to store some of my floral dies in. 

I wanted to keep them all close to hand so that I can easily grab them to make flowers I may wish to add to my cards.

The woodgrain is from the Craft Show I went to last weekend and the flowers are from an old Altenew die set.

I have used the Glossy Accents on these as it brought the colour out in the inked card used for the flowers and the leaves.

In this I have pockets with magnetic sheets in them and on these I have stored the dies I like to use for flowers. 

They are from different companies that I have collected over the years, some are big and others are small, but all will be used to make a full floral display for any project that I am working on.

Altenew Craft Your Life Kit

Hi Everybody,

So this pretty card is created with the Craft Your Life Kit for September 2022 and it is the Floral Acanthus.

The large die cuts all the flower, leaves and flourishes out all at the same time and then how you add them to your designs is up to you.

I decided to make two cards from one lot of die cuts and I used the stencil to colour them all the same way.

This is the first card and it is an  USA2 size which is 51/2 x 41/4  and I have embossed another layer to sit under the flowers.

The other flower is a different style but it looks just as good and again it is added to the embossed panel.

You can of curse add both flowers to one card if you wished but I like the two for one idea ...

I have used sequins on one and small pearls on the other to add extra embellishment and the sentiment both die cut and stamped are also from the same kit. 

Two really pretty cards that are quick and easy to make that would be suitable for any occasion.

I made two more in a different colour way and I will add those tomorrow.
