My little corner of Blogland where I can share my creations with you. There are many video tutorials as well as links to good quality websites for all your crafting needs.
As promised yesterday I have a new video to show you on how I made this card.
Maybe you bought the easel dies that came out from Card Making Magic a while ago and they simplify any measuring for you.
But this is yet another way that you can make them and you can use any nesting dies that you have in your own collections.
The video is not long but it does take you in depth through the steps you will need to do to achieve the look for your self. It may look complicated but I promise you it isn't and you will be surely be delighted with your efforts.
Making boxes has never been easier with the new dies that are available from Card Making Magic and there are so many ways that they can be decorated for any gender and any occasion.
This little one would be perfect with chocolates for Valentines Day.
Or how about this for a new baby filled with items that any new mum would need.
But if you visit tomorrow I am going to show you, in video format, yet another way to put your heart dies to good use so that you get your monies worth from every set you purchase.
I am not going to say any more you will have to come back tomorrow to watch the video
It’s raining here and quite cold but we are cozy and warm with the log burner going. Just a little update in my self and Ruby. I have had the first of my Corona Virus injections and the second one is due in a few weeks time. I feel fine with no after effects at all.
Ruby sadly is not well. She has an eye infection and they have to be bathed regularly and medication done five to six times a day. She is so good and I say to her “ go get in your basket and let me do your eyes” and off she goes and patiently let’s me clean them and add the gel. She is back at the vets next Thursday so I am hoping there will be a great improvement for her. I hate to see her not well.
But onto the draw which has now been done and the name this week is ....
Christi Neal
Please let me have your postal address to
christina@card-making-magic.com
and the pack will be on its way to you straight away.
Please let me know that you have received it ok and I hope you enjoy playing with it.
Today we move onto a gardening theme with this lovely stamps, dies and embossing folder set that is on offer.
In the Garden is a useful set to have in your own personal collection especially with spring on the way.
You will be able to create some really lovely cards with this and build up the scenes as you go along
There are lots of ideas within the magazine so it will be time for a break and a cuppa when you get this.
Would you like to win this set ?? Then all you need to do is leave me a comment at the end of this post with your FULL NAME, to be in with the chance of winning it. Be sure to come back over the weekend to see if it is your name that is shown as the winner.
The Oval is always one of my go to shapes as I really like the elegance this shape gives. And this one has been layered with foam tape to give extra dimension to it.
The Roses are stamped and die cut from the Rambling Rose and after I have added them to the oval panel I have lifted the edge of each rose for more shape
The Roses have been water coloured and I have used Viviva Colorsheets They are handcrafted patches of water colour that come in a booklet for you to use.
You only need a tiny dip into them with your wet brush to pick up the colour and they will last you for ages
You can also mix your own shades on the mixing palette at the back of the booklet and so you will never be short of the shade that you want.
Once they are dry again the will fit neatly into a pocket, along with your water brush, for you to paint on the go whenever you would like
This card could be for any occasion and added to another shaped card if you wished. I have just created this as a standalone version
Play with the shape and see what you prefer landscape, portrait or added to a 5x7 base
I thought I would use peachy orange as this is not a colour scheme I go to very often and I do really like it whenever I do.
This pretty card is created with pone of my favourite collections and I love the results that I get every time I use any of the shapes that are available.
This one has several layers all created with foam tape and then tiny gemstones dotted around the edge.
It could be for any occasion and used at any time of year, and will surely help you to get your MoJo back on track.
The video will show you how I created this one and it is easy to do. Just be sure to look very carefully at your dies and where the cutting edges are placed.

Thank you so much if you joined me for the “LIVE” Craftalong on Wednesday and apart from the hiccup at the start when I couldn’t get the camera to point down to the desk, I think the rest of it went quite well.
I recognised many names that where there but because I also couldn’t get my iPad to connect I couldn’t answer any of the questions or comments that you made. I have since been back in to the page and done what I could. So thank you again if you joined me.
The sun is shining here today but I know some parts of the country have been badly flooded with the latest storm. I feel so sorry for you and I hope you have managed to get a .title but straighter now the storm has passed. It must be dreadful for you especially with the pandemic as well.
I have now done the draw for yesterday’s offering of the magazine with the scoreboard and the winner is
Maria Muller
Would you email me your postal address please to
christina@card-making-magic.com
and I will get it in the post to you as soon as I can. Please let me know that you have it safely and I hope you put it to good use.
So todays offering is a really useful piece of equipment that most card makers use on a daily basis.
I don't make a card without using my Scoreboard as it gives me neat lines to fold my cards and eliminates any cracking on the spine, and there is a bone folder in the pack as well.
It also helps me to create different shapes and in the magazine you will find some hints and tips on how to use it to get these card shapes or your self.
If you would like this then all you have to do is leave me a comment at the end of this post with your FULL NAME and be sure to come back and see if it is your name that is listed as the winner over the weekend.
I cannot stress enough that if you do not leave your full name then your comment will NOT be added into the draw
Craft Stash are hosting a Craftalong for you to have some fun and join in and make some pretty things. It's free to join in but you will need to be a member of the Craft World Club and that too is free to join. You will meet many people with the same ideas and likes as you, and there are competitions and giveaways that you can enter. It's a great place to share inspiration and add your own makes at the same time.
So tomorrow
Wednesday 20th January at 2pm you can join me at Craft Stash and we will be using the new Heart Box Die Set.
I will be sharing how I decorate any of my boxes and making them extra special.
Flowers, Ribbons and pearls will be the order of the day so please come along and join mw at 2pm
As promised I have now completed the video that shows how I made the style of vase shown from die cuts.
I have used the Pentagon Bauble Easel to make the shape and this one has been painted in Arteza Metallic Blue and then dry brushed with gold
But while I was making another vase I thought it would be a good idea to show all three sizes that can be had from the dies
And so this photos shows you all the sizes side by side.
I kept to one basic colour scheme for effect, and I gave them a coat of clear gloss varnish and let them dry.
They can all be displayed together as one collection, or kept individual for flowers.
They are not waterproof though so only add faux lowers to them .I know they won't be around for a lifetime and they are not going to become family heirlooms, but I had fun making them and they do look kind of pretty on my shelf
Today dawns bright and clear even if it is cold and a bit damp. Ruby and I will wrapping up good and warm and we will be going for a little walk along the sea front later. My walking is getting much better as long as I don’t over do it, and rest once I get back home. It’s just nice to get out in the fresh air and look at the sea again.
The draw from yesterday’s offer has been done and the name this week is
Maggie Gardner
Would you email me your postal address please to
christina@card-making-magic.com

This kits comprises of dies, stamps and embossing folder and it is really cute at the same time
There is no video to go with this offer but it speaks for itself and I am sure you would enjoy playing with this
So if this is something that you would like then all you need to do is leave me a comment under the blog post. You must ad your FULL NAME though as that makes it far easier to identify the correct winner.
If you do add your comment then please be sure to come back and check over the weekend to see if your name is listed as the winner. You will have 72 hours to claim if and if you don't then it will be withdrawn and offered again at a later date.
This new Heart Box Die Set comes to you in two different sizes so that you can choose which one serves your needs the best.
This is the large one and it will hold a good many chocolates ... need I say more !!
This is another colour scheme for the box.
Leave the flowers off if this is to be given to a man.
But even they like chocolates and Valentines Day is on the way too so what could be better.
Get his favourite ones and add some tissue paper to the box and you will have a lovely little gift to give to your nearest and dearest on that special day.
After a late start this morning I have managed to get lots done with the rest of the day. And this evening after a walk in the cold damp weather Ruby and I are settled down in front of our log fire. She is snoring her head off and I really wish I could tape it for you to hear. She sounds like an old train coming down the track.
I have now managed to get the draw done for yesterday’s offer and the name this week is ...
Diana Lawton
Would you email me please your postal address to
christina@card-making-magic.com
and the gift will be on its way to you straight away.
Back to the Friday Freebie and for this week I have a lovely die, stamp and embossing folder set called Let It Snow
There is a video to show this set and it was done qite some time ago
Let It Snow will you show how I used these products and I am sure that you will be able to come up with your own ideas if you win this set.
So all you have to do is leave me a comment at the end of the post and don't forget to add your FULL NAME ... no full name then no entry into the draw.
Be sure to come back over the weekend to see if you are the winner.
I'm late to the party again and I just don't know where the time goes. One day it's Friday and the next it Wednesday and in between are a lot of missing days.
Still here I am now with another of the Charming Channels Cards and this one features the Rambling Rose.
This is definitely my favourite one and on this card I have used Glossy Accents to highlight the flower.
I stencilled the background panel with Abandoned Coral and then added it to the card with foam tape underneath
It has been dotted with tiny gemstones and the flowers are also raised with foam tape
If you use Glossy Accents add them at the end as you will need to put the card to one side for them to dry, and it may take a good few hours to do so.
Otherwise you could end up sticking your fingers in it and making an awful mess ...
My little story earlier seems to have tickled some of you and it really was quite funny. And if you missed the story scroll back a little and have a read of it
Vickie and I stood on her doorstep laughing on New Years Eve with a bunch of police men over a supposed party we had been reported for having.
Vickie has her suspicions over who it could have been that sent the email to the police, and if she could have seen us laughing it would have upset her even more. Perhaps she thought they would cart us off in the big riot van ... in handcuffs!!
But despite all that we had a good night and the film we watched was delightful.
If you haven't seen "Room on the Broom" then do coz it's lovely.
And imagine two grown women on NYE with a turkey sandwich ... and don't forget some crisps and the glass of red wine watching it.
Now the draw for the fabulous box of "Goodies" has been done. Quite a lot of people would have liked to win this. I am sorry I only have one at this moment in time.
But there is sure to be another later on so stick around and visit each week to see what is on offer.
Drum Roll Please !!!!
The Winner Is .....
Sue Cockerham
email me your postal address please Sue to
christina@card-making-magic.com
and the box will be on its way to you.
Let me know that you have it safely and I wish you all the best playing with it all
So let me tell you a story... On New Years Evening Vickie and I decided that we would spend our evening together at her house with the dogs Ruby and Dougal joining us. We wanted to have an Indian take away as something different and tasty. I got to her house at 5.30 and we ordered our meal on line at 6.15 pm
We were both hungry and so we were looking forward to the Indian food. We waited .... and we waited ... and we waited and 8.45 pm it still hadn't arrived. We couldn't wait any longer and Vickie made us a turkey and cranberry sandwich instead.
At 9 o-clock there was a knock on the door, and we thought at long last the meal was here, but by this time we were eating our sandwich whilst watching the little film called "Room on the Broom". I went to the door to tell the man to take it back.
But there was no Indian restaurant man stood there .... just THREE big policemen. This of course made us think something was wrong with a family member. The leading police man said to me "We have had an email at the station to tell us that you are having a party" well I laughed and told him he had that wrong and Vickie came to see what was going on.
She also denied it and invited him in to look for himself.. I asked "Do you have any ID because although you are dressed as a police man it doesn't mean you are one " and he showed me his identity badge. Two of them came inside. Parked on the other side of the street was police riot van with probably about ten police men in it. We couldn't believe it and he asked if we had any idea who had emailed them " Have you had a dispute with a neighbour?"
They had a look outside and then we all laughed at this silly situation. Ruby and Dougal of course where enjoying the company and the fuss. We told them we thought they were the delivery man with our Indian meal and the second policeman asked us where we had ordered it from ... he said his wife had ordered a take away from the same place at 4pm and they still hadn't got theirs either.
After they had gone we had a laugh about it, but imagine somebody had nothing better to do on NYE than email the police. telling a lie and wasting precious police time for nothing.
And at 10 pm the Indian delivery man rolled up with our take away and we told him in no uncertain terms what to do with it ... politely of course !!
I hope you all had a good Christmas and I sincerely wish you all the happiest of New Years. Lets hope 2021 is better than the last year ... fingers crossed.
So there was no Give Away last week but this week I have a bumper gift inside this box to offer to one lucky winner.

My plans for the day have been totally changed, more or less the day after I told you what they where for a small dinner on Christmas Day.
Lets hope that next year will be better and we can all get together again and enjoy our families as we should.
As you will have noticed there is no Friday Freebie this week so I hope you are not too disappointed, but be sure to come back next week and see what is on offer as a special gift for the start of 2021.
Just popping in, after a busy week, to tell you that my brand new collection will be featured on Hochanda this afternoon.
The Heart Box will be demonstrated by Pauline Hickey and I am sure she will have some beautiful samples to show you.
So I hope you can join her to see what she has in store.
This box is created with the largest of the Heart Boxes and then I have covered it all with Jute to make it really different.
I even made the flower to go on the top with hessian and string, and of course the pearls add that litle bit extra too.
There are a lot of ways you can dress up this shape and it will suitable for any occasion. There are two sizes to the Heart Box it will suit any thing from party or wedding favours to larger gifts like .... chocolates !! And you can make the matching Card to accompany it.
I know not everybody likes my style of cardmaking with all its flowers and flounces so especially for them I have done a really clean and simple card using the Stunning Snowdrops Channel dies.
For this card I have inked the background starting in the middle and working my way to the edges with lighter strokes of Wilted Violet.
And the added the Snowdrops cut in plain white card to the top. I have wrapped this panel with purple ribbon and a bow before adding it to the white card base.
I have used he stamp With Love from the collection and then dotted it with lilac gemstones as a finishing touch.
I think it looks really cool and I wold be happy to get this for any occasion.
Are you now ready for Christmas? I have managed .... with help .... to put up a tree because on Christmas Day I have my daughters and Grandchildren coming for dinner. We are sticking to the rules and it is only for the one day but it will make such a difference to all of us to sit and eat together.
My eldest daughter is Vegan and so she is bringing all her own food with her. And if you remember last year I went there for a Vegan Christmas. But this year the turkey is calling for my youngest daughter and me.
I have now done the draw for the two Card Making Magic boxed kits and the names are ....
Maureen Wood
Sherry Hay
Please would you both email me your postal address to
christina@card-making-magic.com
and these packs will be on their way to you straight away. But please allow for the time of year and any delays it may cause.
Are you all ready for Christmas and whatever it will be like this year. I won't be doing a "Give Away" next Friday … but I do have something special planned for the NEW YEAR
This week I have TWO copies of the boxed
"All In One Collection" from Card Making Magic
In this kit you will get the magazine , image and sentiment stamps, 4 dies and a beautiful embossing folder plus papers and toppers to help you create.
There is also a template included to make boxes to hold your cards and it is combined with s stencil for you to decorate the top
Altogether a bumper pack that I am sure you will enjoy playing with.
So Would you like one of these kits to come and live at your house ??
If you do then leave me a comment with your FULL NAME at the end of the post and be sure to come back over the weekend and check if you are the winner.
This tone on tone card is created with the Stunning Snowdrops, which is part of the Charming Channels Collection available at Craft Stash.
I cut the channel so that it was along the right side of the front and I used foam tape to raise them from the base card
The sentiment has been stamped in black with the one from the stamp set and then I have cut the edges with the thin border die and add that with foam tape too.
The sentiment and flowers have been stamped in black and then I used alcohol markers to add a bit of shading to the flowers and stems
You can use any of your favourite mediums to colour your flowers.
I added a little pale grey to the white petals and the centres of the flowers I have touched with a little yellow and the leaves green
I used a picture of Snowdrops from the internet as my guide to colouring the flowers and they do look lovely.
Most of us love adding a butterfly or two to our cards as they make it all seem very pretty and feminine. Plus it's a great way to hide that mucky fingerprint if needs be ... if you know what I mean , and I am sure that you do!!
So today I am using the Beautiful Butterflies from the Charming Channel Collection along with my favourite colour scheme of Blueprint Sketch, Wilted Violet and Mermaid Lagoon.
I blended these onto Centura Pearl Card with my brushes from Aldi from a lovely finish to my background panel.
The clever little trick with the ink pads gives a special finish to the sentiment and I used it for the verse on the inside too.
It doesn't harm the ink pads at all as they can easily be cleaned with a tissue.
Another lovely Channel Card that is ready to send and these new dies can help you to get the same results every time.
So today I am showing you the Delightful Daisies which are from the brand new Charming Channels Collection
In this card I have used a Sunray Stencil to create the backdrop and I first used the Worn Lipstick with my brush.
I moved the stencil over slightly and then brushed it again with Scattered Straw and that gives another ray to add to the overall look.
The Daisy is from the stamp set and I added it to white card and coloured it in with the Inks and then cut it out with one of the Oval dies and added it to the card with foam tape .
For the inside I have added the verse onto some white card and then layered it with pink card. The edges have been dotted with pink pearls and the sentiment is from the stamps set also
I think this is a really pretty card and would be lovely for any occasion and will fit into a standard DL envelope.
The new range is very versatile and will work with other dies from other collections and with this one I have used the Oval Nesting Frames to help me get my focal point.
Once again sorry for the delay on this wet and windy day but at last I am here to tell you the winner of the beautiful Hunkydory box kit from Friday. It is a lovely kit and well worth winning. But first I wanted to say sorry about the gremlins that plagued the Facebook Live that went out last week. I hope all the freeze ups didn’t spoil your enjoyment of the two demonstrations that I did for you.
But if you missed the show or you couldn’t watch properly Craft Stash have got both videos on their YouTube channel for you to view uninterrupted and I hope you will enjoy them.
So now let’s get on to the winner and the name this week is
Ann Topp
would you email me please with your postal address and I will get it in the post to you straight away. I hope you will enjoy playing with all the goodies in the pack
Remember this ??? It was offered a few weeks ago and never claimed. It is such a really good prize to have as there are two full foiled kits in it to make complete cards.
It is so sad when people don't come forward and claim their prize but there is nothing I can do about it as I have no way of contacting them.
I do not keep records of names and addresses so even if you have won before I don't have any information on anybody. I rely on you to let me know that you have won when you enter your comment with your FULL NAME
And don't forget to check and see if you are the winner as I always add the name to a blog post over he weekend, and I also add it to the Winners Page which you can view in the NavBar to your left.
If you would like to win this offering then you know what to do and I promise you this is well worth trying for.
And I want to let you know that I will be on Facebook Live with Craft Stash and Lou today at 12.30 pm so please try to join us then
It has been a strange sort of day and it goes dark so early that anything that needs to be done has to be done early. So my task for today was to shampoo my carpets ready for the holiday season. Now don’t ask me why because I have no one combing round this year. I will be going out for Christmas dinner instead and it will make a nice change from having to cook.
Christmas doesn’t really have the same ambience any more since Griff died. And I haven’t even put up a tree since then either. I know I know I am so boring but never mind
The name for the By the Sea set that was on offer has been done and the winner this week is
Kim Cranson
Would you email me your postal address please to christina@card-making-magic.com and the pack will be in the post to you straight away
