Card Winner Today ...

Hi Everybody,

Another bright and early start to the weekend and this afternoon we are going up to the Lake District to walk the dogs.

That will take all day as it is over an hour and a half drive away  from here and then maybe on the way back we can stop and get a lovely meal in a country pub, One that is dog friendly of course.

I cant believe just how much our lives have changed since we got Ruby. Prior to her I had a lovely tidy house and could just get in the car and go wherever we wanted

Now I have doggy toys and blankets scattered around and no matter how much I tidy them away ... Ruby gets them out to play with again.

And we have to plan days out to take the things that she will need. Water, a bowl to put it in, blankets and her doggy coat in case she goes swimming ... again !! Harness, lead and the list goes on but she is so well worth it for the fun she brings to us

And she is a thief who loves to steal socks. She doesn't do them any harm she just likes to lie on them. She steals them from the laundry basket, the drawer, the minute you take them off your feet she is waiting to pounce and she is off like greased lightning

Any way the draw has been done for the lilac card from yesterday and the winner today is you ...

Water Colour Wednesday - Bird Crazy

Hi Everybody,

I sat and water coloured this fun card in a moment of peace and I really enjoyed the process.

I used a number of techniques to get the background and I like the end result

First I ink smooshed three shades of Distress Inks onto some water colour card and spritzed it with water to lift some of the colour.

I then inked through a stencil with a darker shade to get the circles pattern onto the card on the left side

I added Tonic Studios Embellishment Mousse in silver through a different patterned stencil on the right side and allowed that to dry.

I cut this out with a stitched edge die and added it to a top folded white base card

The bird, which is from the Tim Holtz Bird Crazy Collection,  was water coloured with Gansai Tambi and I hand drew the pattern onto the bird.  I added Glossy Accents to the eyes and then mounted him onto some foam pads.

The sentiment was heat embossed onto some parchment and then added to another circle in white. And finally I dotted some sequins around the card ... Cute or what ????

 Spellbinders Supplies:

Other Supplies:
  • Flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts
  • Ribbon from Mei Flower
  • Glitter from Glitter Magic
  • Card from Papermill Direct
  • Pink Dotty card from AnnaMarie Designs
Instructions:
With white card create a 15 cms base card and keep the fold at the top
With Pink Dotty card create a amt that is slightly smaller
With plain pink card create a mat that is slightly smaller
With some dramatic card create another mat that is slightly smaller
With both parts to the Ornamental Doily cut them in white card.
Stamp a sentiment onto the smaller piece and heat emboss in clear powder
Flat glue the Dotty card to the base and the dramatic card to the pink layer then wrap with ribbon.
Add foam pads to the back before adding these layers to the base layers
With foam pads under the Doily add this over the top of the ribbon
With foam pads under the sentiment layer add this to the Doily
The flowers I have used are from left to right:
