"Much Love" ... in blue

Hi Everybody,

For todays card  I have created a frame from the largest die in the Parisian Motifs set.

This is a lovely set together with the accents set  and is one I suggested as a starter set ...  a few years ago now ...  when I did the video   Starting Your Spellbinders Collection.

But of course things move on and new styles are added as the years go by and so I really should up date that video with a more up to date collection  for  2013.
The card is made in a Hinged Card style  and has lots of layers both inside and out.

The frame has the Quatrefoil Pattern in the centre and is raised on foam pads for depth.  You can get the die from Sunrise Crafts

The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley and I have stamped and heat embossed it in silver.

The beautiful collection of flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts

The ribbon is from my "Stash" and has been tied into a triple bow  with the Bow Maker for a lovely effect.

The bow maker is available to buy in My Shop

Tomorrow Holds ...

Hi Everybody,

This card uses the same Glitter card as yesterdays... but for this one I have stayed away from the Christmas theme

I have used a mixture of dies and layered them all together with foam pads for height.

The ribbon is from my "Stash" and the Dazzler covering the knot  is from Creative Studios

The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley and it has been heat embossed in silver

The pearly flourish is from Want2Scrap and is tucked just under the edge of the ribbon and centre panel.

I visited the Hobby Craft  shop in Preston yesterday and  bought my self the gorgeous Peacock die from Tattered Lace ... so that just might be the inspiration for tomorrows card

Colouring Time ...

Hi Everybody,

This character is from the Just Inklined CD "The Next Big Thing" and she is one of the Wrinklies.

I have coloured her with Spectrum Noir ...

Skin                        FS2  FS3  TN2
Hat/Bag                  LV1  LV2
Dress/Hatband        PL1  BP2  BP6
Slippers                  CG1  DG2
Hair/Walker            IG4  IG6

All these colours are from the six pen sets and together they will colour a multitude of designs for you.

They are from the  Pale Hues,  Pinks,  Greens,  Purples and Cool Grey and all these can be purchased from Crafters Companion

There is a tutorial using nothing but the   Ice Grey   set to create a Christmas scene and is the easiest video on colouring to start with.

You will also find many more tutorials .... including some of mine ... at  Spectrum Noir   and new ones are being added all the time.

The doily is from my "Stash" and the sentiment is from   Lili of the Valley   and says "Believe that you are Wonderful"

The ribbon was wrapped around a new pair of pajamas and went straight in to my box ready for just such an occasion.

Majestic Labels 25

Hi Everybody,

This lovely card is created from some of the newest dies from Spellbinders ... and the only way I can show you the set is to show the photo of the packet they are in.

Each element of the set can be used in different ways to give you lots of looks for your designs.

They also match the plain Labels 25 and I have used both sets together to give a layered look.

The background has been embossed and the red ribbon has been wrapped around the layer before it was added to the base with foam tape.

The look is Lacey and delicate and I really do like this card... but I am going to try it in other colour schemes too.

The sentiment has been heat embossed in silver and it is from Lili of the Valley

It has been added with foam pads to the Medallion 7 and then onto Fancy Tags 3 for effect.

Filigree Delight ...

Hi Everybody,

The cards featured today are both using the same set of dies.

But each one has a different look due to the colour scheme and the way the die has been used.

The Gold card has been created from the Filigree Hinged Style

The layers are made with the smallest die from the Grand Decorative Ovals and then Opulent Ovals and added with foam pads for height.

The sentiment on this card  is from  Lili of the Valley   and has been stamped and heat embossed in gold.

The double bow has been created with my Bow Maker  with a large Diamante in the centre.  I have also added Diamante around the ovals

This card has the same die added but this time I have layered it onto the red and added the other layers with foam pads.

The sentiment is from JustRite Stampers  and the pearly "Bling" is from Want2Scrap and is a deep ruby red.

So today the sun i shining and I am going out with my "Film Crew" for Sunday lunch ..... I can almost taste the roast beef already and it's only 9am.

If you are one of yesterdays winners then I need your land address please .... you only have one week in which to claim the prizes or it goes to someone else.

Pink Ovals ...

Hi Everybody,

I love this card and it is much prettier in real life than the photo shows.  It's a really delicate shade of pink

It is once again a Hinged Card as I enjoy this way of making the base.

The white layer has been embossed with one of the new A4 folders from Creative-Studios   and is the one called Basket Weave.

The next layer is pink card but I have put something called paper straw on it and this was from the Pound shop .... and guess how much it was ?????

Around these two layers I have wrapped some of my bargain ribbon with a big double bow tied with the Bow Maker  and these are selling very well in My Shop

Now in the centre of this bow I have added a large spacer with a brad in the centre and both of these can be bought from The Hobby House    ..... and doesn't it look wonderful???

The larger pearls are some of the Bulk Bling from  Want2Scrap  and I have added one in the outer ovals, and two  little stick pins are the finishing touch.

I hope you will be back tomorrow as a new "Give Away" is being added  and you won't want to miss it.

To be in with a chance to win you will need to add your name to the list.

Decorative Labels Eight ...

Hi Everybody,

Todays card is not  very big only (4" x 6") and  there are no deep embellishments on it either ... so a double bonus there.

And that means it will fit into a standard sized envelope for posting.

It use several different dies and they are listed below.

The card has been created from the Hinged Style  that allows you to keep the pattern at the top of the card.

The ribbon around the panel is from Mei Flower  and is a beautiful white satin edged in silver.

The sentiment is part of a collection from Lili of the Valley  that  I have stamped and heat embossed  in silver and matted  onto some silver mirror card.

All this is layered onto the Radiant Rectangles with foam pads.  The backing paper is from the Floriography CD and I have edged this with a silver Metallic Ink  pen

There is just one pearl on the knot of the ribbon that is part of the Bulk Bling from Want2Scrap

I am adding a new "Give Away" this weekend so I hope you will like what is going to be on offer.

Stamped and Inked

There is a FAQ tab at the top of the new page that will give you lots more information.

The cards we create in the classes will not be added to the blog and you can email me with regards to the class at ...    cgriffiths@scrapbooknewsandreview.com

Todays card is a very simple one  that has been created from the Labels 29 stamp that matches the die... and then cut out with that die.

I stamped the image with the Big'n Juicy Waterfall Ink pad which gives the two colour look and then I used Spectrum Noir pens to colour in the scrolls and flowers on the stamp. Pearls have been added to the flower centres.

I used a good quality 300 gsm card to give some substance and then added it to the card base with foam tape. The backing paper is from a PolkaDoodles CD

I wrapped a beautiful wide satin ribbon ... from Mei Flower ... around it first and tied a big chocolate box bow then added a pearl flower to the centre to cover the knot, and the sentiment is from Lili of the Valley

Pearly swirls and edges have been added for a touch of glamour and they are from Want2Scrap

The large pearls at the right hand top are some of the "Bulk Bling"  that is bought by the 1/2 cupful and you get lots of pearls for your money.

Purple and White ...

Hi Everybody,

This pretty card is created with several Spellbinders and the colour scheme was decided by the papers used underneath.

I have used the smallest die from the Grand Scalloped Squares to create the base and layered up from that.

It is just the right size to fit onto the cards stand without falling over.

I have made it in the Hinged Card style and lined the inside with the same paper for a co-ordinated look  ... and the papers where free with a magazine I subscribe to.

The lovely ribbon has silver thread running through the edges and it is from  Mei Flower

The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley  and is one of the Inspirational Sentiments... and there are several on the same sheet ... so good value for your pennies.

The pearls are from Want2Scrap and are some of the new ones that can be bought by the 1/2 cup full ... just look in the Bulk Bling section ... but they are not self adhesive so you will need some clear drying glue to stick them on.
