Green Filigree Card ...

Hi Everybody,

This pretty card is created using the Timeless Rectangles making it into another of the Hinged Cards.

The paper on the front was free from a magazine and has been cut with the A2 Curved Matting Basics  and then just very simply decorated with the butterflies and some trim.

I have used  the Fancy Tags Three and altered the orientation and added in some pearly "Bling"from Want2Scrap

The inside of the card has been lined and once it is finished it measures only 4" x 6" and so fits into a standard sized envelope.

I know USA like to make smaller cards because their postage is so high and this one would fit the bill perfectly.

It could be dressed up for any occasion and is much prettier in real life.

To morrow I think I will move onto something else and away from the Hinged Cards for a while.

I have included in the product list the Big Shot as this machine is amply sized to take many many Spellbinders and is the one I used to create this card.

Question ???

What am I doing wrong ???

Over the last few months I have given away some fabulous stuff.  Some of it I have purchased myself.

But other items have been given to me by companies and whenever that is the case the company has been clearly named in the post ... and I have shown a photograph of what you will receive  in the prize

I have used InLinkz to ensure that the draw is done randomly and fairly ...  to give every body a chance ... and the winners are notified by email from InLinkz of their win.

The winners name is clearly announced on the Blog and Facebook  and I have asked for their land address so that I can post the prize.   I have even said I will post it anywhere in the world to the winner.

I know that many of you enter the draws and would dearly love the prizes on offer and I know that if  I was the winner I would be there straight away claiming my prize.    And so I am more than confused.....   and I am very disappointed to say that the winner of the last "Give Away" for the Wild Orchid Flowers has NOT yet come forward to claim the prize.

These are lovely gifts that I am offering and so I don't understand why someone would add their name and then not check to see if they have won... and this is not the first time it has happened.

Remember the Grand Decorative Ovals that have never been claimed.  (They will be offered again soon.)

So as far as the beautiful flowers are concerned  I have decided to give the winner until tomorrow  morning ... which will make it one week from the draw ... to claim the prize and if it is not claimed then another name will be chosen.

Do YOU think that is fair ???? or maybe I shouldn't have added this post. Tell me what you think please.

So come on   Carol Sue   get your skates on or you will lose the prize ...

One Die ... Two Ideas

Hi Everybody,

Continuing with the theme of Hinged Cards  ...

I have again used  5 x 7  Matting Basics for the base to the first card.

These produce a good sized card that will fit into a standard envelope ...  if you keep the embellishments reasonably flat.

The large double bow to this card is Organza and I have a large beaded pearl Dazzler to add to the centre.

The "Bling" matches the Fancy Tags Three and is...  as always ... from Want2Scrap

The same tag has been used on both cards just the orientation of it changed.

If you look closely at these cards you will see that I have used the same die in two different ways.

The blue card has the Timeless Rectangles added,  to the three layers of the base card,  with foam pads.

But the pink card has used the die to create a hinged filigree card
and this will be videoed this weekend and added to the pages of the website.

The layering for the pink card has used the smaller A2 Curved Matting Basics A and B and the pink spotty layer is from Radiant Rectangles.

The large satin bow has been double tied and a pink Dazzler placed over the knot.

The sentiments for both cards are from Lili of the Valley  and the round one has been cut with Lacey Circles

Pink Hinged Card ...

HI Everybody,

This is another of the Hinged cards and this is very simply made.

All I  have used for this is the Grateful Lattice and Mating Basics.

The main reason I use the matting basics is because I am rubbish at cutting a straight line ... no matter what I do it always goes  wonky.

I try to straighten it that much that the card ends postage sized by the time I have finished and is neither use not ornament.

And I bet a lot of you have the same problem .... Yes?

So out come the matting basics and then my card is neat and tidy from the word go ... and all I did was cut the Lattice out and add it to some patterned card that has been embossed.

The sentiment has been stamped and embossed in silver and cut from Labels 20 which is one of my all time favorite shapes.

I added a very large satin bow with a Dazzler in the centre and then added self adhesive pearls to each of the cross sections of the Lattice.

The finished card is 5 x 7" and I have added my "A"Frame to the back to display it.

Easy Cards ...

Hi Everybody,

I enjoy making cards that are easy to create and yet still have a really good look and feel to them and this one just adds a really simple hinge to join the back and front of the base card.

It  is the topic used in the video Create a Hinged Card  which just allows you to make cards that are larger than merely folding card  stock in half.

And once created you can use the card any way round that you wish.  I have used these with the hinge at the top.

For this I have used the Matting Basics A and B to give me the layers to my design ... and I have embossed the spotty layer.

The rose has been created following the Paper Roses  tutorial which will show you how to get realistic looking blooms for your cards.

This Rose has been taken a step further and the   Enamelled  Rose Tutorial  will show you how.

Get out those melting pots and try this for yourself ... and if you don't have a melting pot then use a pie dish as I did for the video. You don't have to eat a lot of pies to get the dish though .... they can be bought empty in the supermarket.

More tomorrow
