Beautiful Card Designs Made Easy

New Video...

Hi Everybody,

Some time ago I was asked if I would show how I add the flowers to my cards ... and so I thought ... this calls for a video.

I made three cards all the same style and the same elements on them like ribbon and lace.

All had an embossed background and all had the lattice panel on the front  made with  Quatrefoil Pattern die

The only difference in them was the color and the embossing was different on each one ... just to ring the changes.
Then I added in the flowers and made it a different display on each and used a different sentiment and tag shape on each one too

I decorated the inside to match the front ... and you will be able to see all three and the differences in the video ... which I hope you will enjoy.

Adding Flowers to Cards  was one of the tutorials I added over the weekend ... and I apologise about the rain but it was really throwing it down when we started.

But we only had a small slot of time and so we pressed on with it.

Hope fully the music will help to drown out some of the noise ... and the music is better than me singing !!

Pink Peacock

Hi Everybody,

Here is the Peacock die from  Tattered Lace  and  I have kept the design very simple for this one.

The card is quite large at about 7 1/2 " square and has been layered with pink and white.

The White layer has been embossed with the Elegance 8" folder from  Crafters Companion  and the ribbon has been added to the central strip.

I have added the Swirls from the Gold Elements One with foam pads to sit under the flower

The sentiment is from Keepsake and is a box of  wood mounted stamps that I have had for a long time.  It has been heat embossed in silver

The large pearls are from Want2Scrap  and I have added them onto the embossed  inside of the card also.

The ribbon  was wrapped around a new pair of Pajamas that I bought at Christmas ... I knew it would come in handy someday

With the peacock I added it to pink Centura Pearl card and cut around it.

I have used a Quickie glue pen and  filled each open area, sprinkled some Glamour Dust on to it and allowed it to dry.

Then added it to the front of the card with foam tape to raise it off the panel.

Pale Turquoise

Hi Everybody,

As I am writing this post the rain is pouring down and I can hear the pattering of the drops on the window that is above me in my craft room.

We were going to do a video but at the moment the noise is too much so hence I write this post instead.

Todays card is a lovely pale shade and it is much prettier in real life.  It is made into a Hinged Card and this is my favorite way to make cards at the moment

It creates a card that is neither  too big nor too small and because I used Spellbinders matting basics I know the lines will be perfect every time.

The filigree panel has been added with foam pads to make it stand out from the background and that gives depth to the card.

The little sentiment is from  JustRite Stampers  and it has been heat embossed in silver.

The ribbons is from Mei  Flower and is some I bought at the last craft show... and the next GNPE in Harogate is in October ... will you be going ? I will

I have wrapped the ribbon around the panel and glued a Dazzler  from Creative Studios  over the knot.

The beautiful flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts  and the card is finished with some strips of self adhesive pearls from Want2Scrap

Birthday Lilac ...

Hi Everybody,

This card is based on a similar style as yesterdays.

But a change of flowers and colour scheme as well as sentiment make it look different .

This one is for my friends Birthday this week and this is her favorite color.

The cards itself is lovely in real life and I know she is going to love it.

The beautiful lace along the right hand side is some that I had in my "Stash" and it is truly lovely. Just perfect for a special friend.

Here is glimpse of the inside and I have added a tag to be able to sign the card.

The flowers are a secretion from Wild Orchid Crafts

The Diamante to match the Fancy Tags three is from Want2Scrap  and makes a statement piece of the sentiment.

I like this card and the one from yesterday too and both are for very special occasions.

I will be very happy to give this one to my friend.

And I can't wait to hear what the recipients of yesterdays card have to say about it.

Drum Roll Please ....

Hi Everybody,

I have had several emails telling me about this publication that is on the newsagents shelves today.

It is a UK magazine called Quick Cards Made Easy and each month it highlights websites and names them as Website Of The Month.....
And this month I am so proud to say that
"Card Making Magic" is featured as the website to visit for Techniques

How cool is that ????  What an honor to be named as such.

Having wonderful followers to the website and now this  makes all my hard work so very worth it.

Oh my !!  I am so pleased I am grinning from ear to ear ....

Pretty in Pink ...

Hi Everybody,

My Grand-daughter, Robyn,  has been asked to be God-Mother to her friends daughter  and she is so pleased about it.

So she asked me if I would make her a Special Card for the parents to keep and this is what I came up with.

The request was for pink and flowery and it is certainly that.

The pink foiled card is some that I bought from Cardcraft Plus on my trip out to Preston on Monday

The inside has just been decorated with a little tag for Robyn to sign her name.

The pretty baby feet ribbon is from The Ribbon Room

The card used is white hammered card and pink Centura Pearl from Crafters Companion

The flowers are a mixture of Tulips, Carnations, Roses and another one I can't remember the name of ... soreeee !!

The Peacock ...

Hi Everybody,

Here is the Peacock from Tattered Lace and this is the first time I have used this die.

Cutting the die out gives you a really filigree look so I traced around the die and cut  it by hand to  produce the solid background piece to add the filigree too.

The white layer has been embossed  with the Basket Weave folder from Creative Studios and to this I added a panel of silver foiled lilac card.

The frame was created around this panel and added with foam pads to give the depth.

The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and are a mixture of Tulips, Carnations  and Roses.

All have been glittered with Glamour Dust and some punched leaves tucked in behind them.  It makes a very pretty card and I will be using it again in the not too distant future.

Tomorrow Holds ...

Hi Everybody,

This card uses the same Glitter card as yesterdays... but for this one I have stayed away from the Christmas theme

I have used a mixture of dies and layered them all together with foam pads for height.

The ribbon is from my "Stash" and the Dazzler covering the knot  is from Creative Studios

The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley and it has been heat embossed in silver

The pearly flourish is from Want2Scrap and is tucked just under the edge of the ribbon and centre panel.

I visited the Hobby Craft  shop in Preston yesterday and  bought my self the gorgeous Peacock die from Tattered Lace ... so that just might be the inspiration for tomorrows card

Teal Christmas ...

Hi Everybody

This card is so much better in real life as the pale turquoise is Glitter card and it sparkles under the filigree layer.

The background piece has been embossed with Regency Swirls from Crafters Companion  and it is very ornate.

The Silky Crush ribbon and the Dazzler are from Creative Studios  and the ribbon is so soft and easy to tie.

The beautiful Frilly Flourish is from Want2Scrap  and is my finishing touch

So just a couple of dies and some pretty embellishments and there is a lovely card.
