Tied Together Die ...

Hi Everybody,

There are two new dies used on this card. One is the Tied Together Ornamental die and the other is the Faux Quilled Leaves by Sue Wilson.

Both are gorgeous dies and both are from JGD Crafts   and although this is a UK based company they are happy to ship abroad.

So well worth a visit if you are having trouble buying craft items in your part of the world.

Here I have used it with the beautiful shade of blue that I really have grown to like and I have created a frame around the pattern.

I have used foam pads in between all the layers to give some depth to the card and wrapped the gingham ribbon around it all.  Tiny blue pearls sit at all the cross sections.

The ribbon is from MeiFlower  and there is a pearl and diamnate centre from Wild Orchid Crafts  in the centre of the double bow

The flowers are also from WOC and as usual they are sparkled with fine glitter from Glitter Magic ... these two products go hand in hand for me.

The stamp was a freebie with Simply Cards and Papercrafts Magazine and it will come in very useful

You have the opportunity to win some flowers and glitter along with a lovely Sheen Douglass stamp and all you need to do is become a follower and  add your name to the list ... but only once please as duplicates will be removed .... June Give Away

Californian Collection - Background

Hi Everybody,

For todays card I have used another  of the dies from JGD Crafts and this is the Californian Collection  Background die designed by Sue Wilson.

I have simply cut the pattern out of white card and then  cut it into strips and backed each one with pink card. The card is from Papermill Direct

I have mitred each corner and added it to an embossed panel
with foam tape to raise it up

There is a smaller frame over the verse and a little  pearl from Want2Scrap added to the centres of each pattern

The verse is from Crafters Companion

The tiny bows are off a new pair of pyjamas ... as they look much better on my card

The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts  and are a lovely mixture of Roses, Tulips, Cosmos Daisies and Sweetheart Blossoms.

All sprinkled in glitter from Glitter Magic

It is quite a big card at 7 inch square but it does look very pretty.

With You in Mind ...

Hi Everybody,

So here today is a pink card .... just for a change !!  And once again it has many layers

I have used California Collection - San Francisco as the topper and layered it over the second die in Elegant Labels Four.

The Sue Wilson Collections are available from JGD Crafts   and they will ship worldwide

The matching bling for the Labels Eleven comes from Want2Scrap

The lovely pink satin ribbon is from Mei Flower    and I have tied it into a double bow ... and  added three Sweetheart Blossoms from  Wild Orchid Crafts

A really pretty card with lots of depth to it.

Create a Card - Enchanted

Hi Everybody,

So far over the last few days we have been showcasing the new Create a Card range from Crafters Companion.

There are six different patterns and they are truly lovely.

Now we are back to my comfort zone with this card as it is pink .... with flowers, ribbons and pearls.
My flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts  sparkled with fine glitter from Glitter Magic

This pattern  is called  Enchanted  and it is  gorgeous

Once cut all the dies will leave a deep emboss in the card

They cut so well  and there are many ways they can be used and I will show you some in the coming months

I have  used  California Collection - Hollywood  to top the card and it gives a very frilly pretty effect

This design and others in Sues Collections are variable from   JGD Crafts  who are happy to ship abroad ... just for you

I have added in ribbon and lace as well as sparkly Diamante and another lovely hatpin.

These little addition will make the perfect small gift for any of your friends and won't break the bank either.

The base card that I use is from   Papermill Direct   and is the white linen  card at 255 gsm  which is sturdy enough to create the base and  layers and yet  supple enough to create flowers when you  need  them.

Gilding Flakes

Hi Everybody,

A little while ago I added a card that had   Gold Gilding Flakes being used with the Spanish Collection - Seville  from Sue Wilson.

I had several emails asking me how I had made the card and so here is a short video to show you what I did.

The Seville die is from   JGDCrafts  and the Gilding Flakes are from  Indigo Blu  and they have many different colored mixes for you to choose from

The double sided sticky sheet I got at the craft  show but you can get than from many places

I have carried the theme through to the inside of the card so that it compliments the front

The ribbon is from my "Stash" but the flowers and leaves are from Wild Orchid Crafts

I have used the glitter from Glitter Magic to enhance the flowers

The sentiment is from JustRite Stampers

The video is only 10 minutes and I hope you will enjoy the effect once you give the Gilding Flakes a try for yourself .

Click this link for more ideas on using  Gilding Flakes   and also using them with your stamps

Blue Blue ...

Hi Everybody,

Here is another blue card using that pretty paper pack from Limetree Craft and the gingham ribbon from Mei Flower

There are lots of layers to this card and the frames are created with the matting basics ... but the background in the frames is the California Background from Sue Wilson

This is another card that is much prettier in real life than the photo shows

You will find the collection of Sues dies at JGD Crafts

I know that some of you want these dies and can't get them in your own country but JGD Crafts will send the dies abroad for you ...

The little sparkly butterflies are some that I bought at the cart show and they were on a roll for 50p .... so a real bargain

It is worthwhile rummaging around the baskets at craft shows as you never know what you will find.

The flowers and the white leaves are from Wild Orchid Crafts

The verse is from the Good Friends/Labels 29 stamp set from   JustRite Stampers

More of the Blues...

Hi Everybody,

I love this shade of blue and it is from a paper pack that I got at the crafts show

There are 20 sheets in the pack and it is from Limetree Craft ...

When I Googled the name it came up with quite a few and I am not sure which one it is and so I haven't added the link.

The lacy panel on the card is  the Californian Collection by  Sue Wilson  and this one is called Hollywood   from   JGD Crafts ... and they will ship abroad for those of you who are having trouble getting the die in your own country.

The pearly flourish is from  Want2Scrap
The ribbon is from  Mei Flower  and is a soft and pretty gingham and I have tied it into a double bow.

The flowers and the Diamante centre to the bow are from  Wild Orchid Crafts   and the little sentiment is from  Crafters Companion

If you look carefully at this card then you can see that the outer blue layer is the waste that is left over from the Reflective Moments

Once the filigree panel was cut for the   Blue card  shown the other day   I  couldn't just throw this away  and so here it is here.

Just by carefully positioning the die on the card you wish to cut can give you something extra ... sort of two for the price of one !!

Seville and Gilding Flakes

Hi Everybody,

Todays card is using the Seville set from Sue Wilson and is part of her Spanish Collection.

This is such a versatile die that can be used in so many ways... and you will find this die and many others from Sues' other collections at JGD Crafts

Here I have used it with Gilding Flakes for a really opulent look and then layered all the panels together with lots of foam tape.

The ribbon is from my "Stash"

But the fancy centre is one of the pieces from the bracelets that I got in Primark a few weeks ago for a few pounds and dismantled.

It looks very pretty over the knot  and worked out to have cost about 25 pence once the bracelet was pulled apart.... cheap as chips !!

I really like this die set as the lacy effect is right up my street.

I like intricate dies and the filigree look to my cards makes them very feminine ... especially in pastel colors ...
like er ! pink !!

Butterfly Meadow

Hi Everybody,

This lovely stamp  is one that was  created to match the  Spanish Collection of dies from Sue Wilson.

It is a  silhouette stamp and so I have  stamped it in black and embossed it in clear.

Then I blended over it all with Victorian Velvet and Broken China Distress Inks for a soft and faded effect.

The top layers  are die cut  from the Seville set  with the lacy panel cut in half and layered behind the stamped layer.

Both the whole collection of  dies and the matching stamps are  available  from   JGD Crafts

The only other addition to the card is a little ribbon and some pearls from Want2Scrap

Very simple card and very quick  to do for a really subtle look.

Spanish Collection - Seville (The Box)

Hi Everybody,

Here as promised is the box that matches the card I showed you yesterday and it is such a pretty combination.

It stays with the Sue Wilson Craft Dies from the Spanish collection - Seville.

The die is available from JGDCrafts  and they have the full range of the new dies

I have added in the video to take you step by step through the making of the box and of course you can decorate yours any way you wish.

It just makes your card something really special to give and if you added in one of the Decorative Hatpins as well then  it is a gift as well as a card.

I have used some really lovely striped pink card that is 240 gsm for both the card front panel and the box lid.

It is a good weight to use and gives some structure to the lid when you start to die cut it.

Keep the fancy card for the top and use a plain white for the base of your box .... I used the same card for my cards base and it is from Papermill Direct

I have lined the box with pink tissue paper to keep the card clean and I must admit that I really do like this little card.

Spectrum Noir Skin

Hi Everybody,

I have had several emails asking me for links to articles when they are already on the page... so if you are new to Blogging then any words that are in another color are usually a link.

Hover your mouse over it and if it turns into a hand then click it and it will open another window and take you to the page for that item or article.

This is one of the images I colored with the Pale Hues six pen set
from Spectrum Noir.

I went on to make a video tutorial for  Pale Skin  using the same set and there are other videos using the other six pen sets.

It is one of the videos that got me noticed by Spectrum Noir and lead to me being an instructor for them and subsequently on the Design Team.

Now from there more exciting things have happened and I have been asked to do a workshop on these pens by

They are a UK based company in Sutton in Ashfield and I will be down there on September 13th

I know the numbers for the workshop are limited so if you live near there and are not in the class then just pop in and say hello.... it would be lovely to meet you.

So the image of this handsome man  from Just Inklined was made into a card and the sentiment that I added for fun is from Lili of the Valley

Spanish Collection ...

Hi Everybody,

I have another new die and this one is from JGD Crafts  a UK based company in Nottingham.

This beautiful die was created from the  new Sue Wilson dies and this is the Spanish collection called Seville.

It makes the most beautiful lacy pattern and I have only used the die set for this card.

I inked through the patterned die whilst the card was still place with Distress ink to give a subtle hint of color to the frame.

I cut the largest die twice and made a hinged base then layered up the other dies with foam pads.

The label was cut  twice  ... one to frame the other ... then stamped in color and embossed in clear.

One of the dies cuts the pattern but leaves it in the card and is excellent for creating box tops that show the card inside.

I added acetate to the top and decorated it to match the card and it is very pretty.

This is a picture of the packet that you are looking for and
JGD Crafts have the full range of Sue Wilson dies in stock.

This is a die that I will be using time after time and I love the lacy look to the card.

I have added in some pearls from Want2Scrap  and the tiny turquoise clear flowers are also from the same company.

So that the flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts have the extra sparkle I have dusted them with Glitter Magic.
