Organza Flowers

I found  an  old piece of organza in my "Stash" and being the fugal crafter that I am I decided it had to be put to good use.

I washed  and condtioned it to make it smell nice and then I set to work with my Spellbinders.

And so this is how the tutorial for the  Organza Flowers  came about.

The flower has been added to a mix of others from Wild Orchid Crafts

The centre is a pearl brad  from the  The Hobby House   and that holds all the layers together.

And the  leaves are from the Ash  Branch punch from L-Em

This is a stamped  image from Lili of the Valley   and  they have both  been coloured with Promarkers.

This was in the days prior to me discovering the "Bling" and so there are no pearly bits on either of them.

But I have used the Spellbinders and self adhesive pearls just to soften the look.

At the time I was very  pleased with these cards and the flowers have been re-created many times on other cards that I have made.

Birthday Blue ...

This is a very simple Brithday card that was really quick to make.

The blue ribbon was already in my "Stash" and it is the last piece I have left  .... (sob!!)

But of course the background, tag and border were  created with   Spellbinders.

Well wouldn't be me without a Spellbinder or two somewhere in a card.

This time I have used the  A Side Elegance Embossing Folder and each of the little circles in the design has been blobbed (technical term)  with the Cosmic Shimmer white glue to create a pearl.

Leave them to dry thoroughly before you continue ... probably best overnight.

I layered this panel onto some blue card.  The border is the waste from cutting out the Morrocan Accent  (and that was used on another card)  ... but being the frugal crafter that I am I couldn't throw it away.

I just layerd and offset two pieces of it and edged  it with some distress ink then added the lot  ... on foam pads to the card. I wrapped them with the blue ribbon and added them all to the base card.

The sentiment was stamped in Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink and the cut out with one of the Fancy Tags 3   and inked again while still in the die to edge the frame.

The little Diamante buckle is from The Hobby House  and just gives that little bit of sparkle.

Easel Card

This week I thought I would go back to basics with a card fold that is very popular,  and one that is very easy for those new to cardmaking.

Then over the week I will show all the ways  to make this card ... right up to the four variation.

The image is from  the Back to Nature CD from  Polka Doodles  and it has been decoupaged on to the front of the easel.

So this is the Easel Card in it's simplest form.  It can be made to any size you like by just folding the card in half and then folding one of those halves in half again.   The link is to a short video tutorial.

If you are a seasoned cardmaker then you will know exactly what to do to get this look, so I apologise if it seems I am being too basic.

But there are new starters to this hobby everyday and they don't know where to start.

I get emails from lots of people asking me to start at the begining and that is what I try to do, and they can find many many projects and card folds at   Card Making Magic

The flowers on this card are from my "Stash" but the metal spacer centres are from The Hobby House   and they have been attached with Pearl Brads.

The Twisted Easel will be tomorrows card ...
